Dishwasher Not Draining
Ordered both drain & wash impeller kit and the drain check valve with o-ring. Decided to test the cheaper drain check valve first. Pulled dishwasher out from wall & adjacent cabinetry; removed drain hose from disposer and drained as much water as possible; "jacked" side of dishwasher to gain access to drain hose and drain check valve; used pliers to remove hose clamp; placed flat pan underneath to catch remaining water drainage; unscrewed drain check valve; tested under bathroom faucet--determined faulty; replaced with the new one, restored connections, reset dishwasher in proper location; voila--fixed! Plan to return the unneeded impeller kit.

standing water in tub , not draining
removed old check valve from bottom of dishwasher and replaced with new one. I used channel locks to do this, disconnect hoses and screw out check valve, and put back in opposite order, make sure the dishwasher is empty of water or have a plastic bowl or such to catch water. Take off two front covers on bottom of dishwasher to access check valve ,white with hose attached.

Bottom of dishwasher retained an inch of water after cycles complete. Had to pump out dirty water before starting new cycle.
Once the covers under the door are removed, the check valve is visible (unless its too dark, hence the headlight), and pointing right at you. Since I was working under the dishwasher, I gathered all the tools I thought I might need and laid them on the floor next to. Removed 2 covers, placed pan under check valve and hose to catch any water, squeezed clamp with (wrong) pliers, it eventually came loose. Carefully twisted hose off check valve. Water came out, some of it got into the pan, most of it on the floor. I guess I should have pumped it out before I started this. Plastic check valve is screwed into the big piece of whatever, carefully grabbed it with (wrong again) pliers and turned it out. Installation is reverse of removal - but use a large pliers with a ROUNDED jaw to grab the round check valve body. Don't squeeze too hard or overtighten it. Put the clamp on the valve before pushing the hose on. Be sure the hose seats all the way onto the little lugs. Compress the clamp, slide it over the end of the hose and release. That's all folks, works good now.

Dishwasher not draining. Removed parts down to pump base. Still not draining. Removed external drain hose and ran water through it. No clog there. Is it likely to be the check valve?
For model number 66515632000
Hi Susan, Thank you for the question. If the appliance is not draining at all I suggest replacing the Check valve and if this didn't fix the issue, you can test to see if the Pump and Motor is getting 120Vac with a Multi Meter,if so and it is still not draining it will need to be replaced.Hope this helps!

The dishwasher doesn’t drain. Took apart drain to clean anything out. The drain pump runs but doesn’t make the hard clunk sound right before it usually does when draining the water away. Would this solve it?
For model number Tud6710sb0
Hello Marilynn, thank you for inquiring. Yes, this could be due to a faulty Drain Check Valve with O-Ring. This part number PS382661 is the correct replacement for your model. You may also want to consider the Drain and Wash Impeller Kit, part number PS382822 for your model. Good luck with your repair!

During the wash/rinse/fill cycle, the washing machine makes a really loud bumping noise when it is calling for water. Is that related to the drain check valve and solenoid?
For model number DU5003XL0
Hello Roland, Thank you for the question. If it is just during the wash/rinse/fill cycle and not the drain cycle, I suggest testing the fill valve. I looked up the part and it is listed as No Longer Available/Discontinued. There is no part substitutions listed. My suggestion here would be to call the manufacturer and see if they can provide you with a substitution for these part numbers. Hope this helps!

OK. Had trouble with this unit draining. Purchased a pump kit that included wash and drain impellers along with other parts. Changed it out and still had the same problem. Further research pointed to the check valve, a tube that comes off the pump, motor that the drain hose to the sink connects two.
My question. I took that tube off to see if there were any restrictions. I was able to take it apart and found there was a small what appeared to be a rubber I’ll call it tit for lack of better words. I’m not sure what purpose it serves, although it looks like it fits into the tube underneath the rubber flapper. Trying to figure out what that is for. I checked to see if it was attached/molded to the flapper but I didn’t see anything that indicated it broke off. Since putting it back together without that rubber piece, the dishwasher drains fine. Steady flow into the sink drain until it’s empty. Whereas prior, it would just spit/trickle water, and never completely empty the tub. I know I can buy a new one of these check valves, but I’m already into this dishwasher for about 100 bucks . If I’m gonna keep spending money, try to fix it, I might as well buy a new one. Thanks.

Hello Rhonda and thanks for writing.
It sounds like you in need of the drain and wash impeller kit. Part Number: PS382822 is in the list of compatible items for your model and should fix both of those issues. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime.
Washer pump seems to empty all of the water from the dish washer, but after 15 minutes or so , there is 1/2 inch of water around the pump. Is the normal or do i need a new ball check valve. If so, can i access it and replace it by removing the lower front panels?
thank you for your help.
For model number 655.15595791
Hello Elliott, thank you for your question. If there is some standing water in the tub after the unit has finished draining we would recommend replacing the check valve. This part prevents water from coming back into the unit from the drain hose. You should be able to access this part from under the front access panel. It is attached to the drain hose and the pump housing. I hope this helps!
