plastic Ice bin auger broke and needed to be replaced
The repair was actually easy; however I have an ice dispencer/crusher attached and the which the diagram supplied with the part did not include. I had to make several calls before I was e-mailed the diagram.
Suggestions: note that the screw at the end of the auger goes in the reverse direction (this took me about 20 minutes to figure out even though it was shown in the diagram). Also, be sure to keep the ice crusher parts in order and be sure the white plastic tab on the crusher fits into a depression in the housing. I did not notice this and had to take it all apart and redo the install. It works great!!!

The auger drum had broken, not allowing any ice cubes to be crushed or dispenses through the door.
Initially I removed the cover to the auger and auger drum. Then the split ring locking washer had to be removed. I used a needle-nosed pliers and small screw-driver to pry that off. The auger arm could then be removed, and the auger blades removed. This proved to be the part that required the most patience. The blades need to removed and returned in their exact pattern. Someone else suggested taking a digital picture of them before removing them; this is a good suggestion that I failed to do. Once the blades are returned, all the other parts can be replaced in reverse order. Put the screws back in, and you are finished.

Replace broken ice machine feeder drum
Be advised that to do this job, you have to take the ice tray and feeder assembly completely apart. The only tricky part is that the nut, part 31 in the drawing, that holds everything together is reverse threaded. Since it's plastic, you're afraid you'll break it. If you know it's reverse threaded to begin with you can go ahead and apply the required force to get it off.

The ice despenser in the door has never worked properly
Replaced the ice bucket (old one was cracked) the auger, auger coupling and auger drum. The new parts had been redesigned to replace the orginal auger helix and auger sleeve which had been replace two times and never seemed to last more than a few weeks. The new parts work great and we have as much ice available as we need. The replacement was stright forward but I do reccomend that you make a simple drawing of the ice crusher blade and washer locations as you dissassemble them to aid in reassembly.

auger blades broken
Removed ice bin then pulled front cover with nut driver . Pull small rod from side ( one screw holding rod and spring). Pull auger out. Take plastic nut off end ( CLOCKWISE) LEFT HAND THREAD. Keep all ice crusher blades in order when you pull them off. Install new auger and reverse steps. web site has exploded view. It looks difficult but it isn't.

Ice Maker would no longer move ice through the dispenser
As cookbook authors and publishers, my husband and I depend on our appliances. When our icemaker would no longer work, it was imperative that we repair it as quickly and ecomonically as possible. We had used PartSelect.com earlier to order a part to repair our Jenn-Air stove top and had great results. So, rather than paying a repairman four times or more the cost of the part, we ordered the part and my husband installed it. It took less than 30 minutes to remove the broken auger and install the new one. THANKS PartSelect.com -- we'll use you for all appliance parts needs.

Icemaker Wouldn't Work
I removed the screws that attached the drum housing to the bin. I detached the auger & removed the broken drum assembly, turning the auger to the right, opposite what I thought it should be. I slipped the end of the auger into the new bin coupler & put it in place at the rear of the bin. Next I slipped the auger drum into place & tightened it to the left with a socket wrench. I screwed the drum housing to the bin, put the bin back into the freezer & I now have ice through the door again. Easy repair even for me, a 60+ woman.

The ice dispenser only will release crushed ice. What part controls the release of cubes versus crushed ice?
For model number JCD2389GES
Hello Robert, Thank you for the question. I suggest replacing the Dispenser Solenoid, PartSelect Number PS11743220. This Solenoid helps the bucket switch from cube to crushed. Hope this helps!

My frig makes ice but when I push in to get the ice to come out it makes no noise and no ice comes out. What do I need?
For model number ED5VHEXVQ01
Hello Willa, Thank you for the question.I suggest checking the wire harness in the bottom of the door, make sure there is no damage or that it has not come unplugged. Next you can push and hold the Unlock button of the dispenser for a few seconds to see if it resets. You can also test the Micro switch in the dispenser, PartSelect Number PS11738948. You can use a Multi Meter to test for continuity, it should read closed. If you do not have a meter you can swap the water dispenser switch to the icemaker side to see if it works. If not you may need to replace or test the Auger Motor, Part Number: PS11752718. Hope this helps!

When i open my freezer on the plastic bin and on the door there is ice built up water is coming from somewhere and building up on bottom of white bin and the door can you tell me where this water might be coming from and the part i need
For model number ASD2522WRW06
Hello Pauline, thank you for your question. I would recommend checking the icemaker and the water line that brings water to the icemaker for holes, or leaks. You can also check the amount of water coming into the icemaker, if there is too much water coming in from the water valve the icemaker will overflow and the water freeze up on the door. I hope this helps!

Is a ice auger the part i need when my ice maker is not crushing ice as it should?
For model number 10655244400
Hi Darlene,
Thank you for your question. The auger actually just pushes your ice to your crusher. I would suggest taking a look inside of your crusher assembly to see if any of the little blades are broken at all or seized. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
