Power won't stay on, if I unplug and plug back in, press start the power comes on for a few seconds then cuts out. The main board led light is on when power is working. I just replaced the user control board and that allowed it to work for about a day and now the same issue. I noticed last night that the door lock was having issues. When I finally close the door tight and push hard on it to confirm it was closed I got the washer to power up again and run a short cycle. My questions is can a door lock issue cause the power to shut off or do you think its the main board? I just want to order the right part.
For model number 79640272900
Hi Kristen, Thank you for the question. The switch sounds like the issue. It acts of as a safety and shuts the power down if it thinks the door is open. Hope this helps!

Hello. So i just bought a used LG front loader washer. I was told it has not been used for a couple of years but did when it was last used, i got it home and went to use it and the door clicked twice and a de error code appeared. I unplugged it and held the start button for 5 seconds and tried again and the same thing happened. From what i read i think it is the door lock switch but one of the questions you answered said it could be a magnet. I was not sure if the magnet is part of the door switch or if you think it may be something entirely different? Thanks for your help.
For model number WM2277HB
Hello James, Thank you for the question. Checking the model number your appliances does not have the Magnet suggested in the previous question. In your case I would suggest replacing the Door Lock, PartSelect Number PS3533609. Thank you for your inquiry, good luck with this repair!

Where would this door magnet be located? What does it look like?
For model number 79440441900
Hi Gerald, Thank you for your question. This part is located in the cabinet of your machine, usually right next to the door so that the strike on your door can plug into it and lock your machine. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

My washer will not light up or start until I unplug it, then it works in a complete cycle. No error code displayed. From other sites it sounds like the computer board, so does that sound like that is it if it will keep working just by unplugging?
For model number WM2701HV
Hello George, Thanks for your question. Check the wiring connections to see if any are loose, but if they are not, it is likely an issue with the main control board, which should be replaced. I hope this helps.

My washer won't go into spin cycle and gives a de code. Could this be the door lock actuator? (switch-assembly-locker)
Hi Gerald, Thank you for your question. If your washer is giving you a DE error code, it is letting you know that the door is still open. This is not the case. There is a magnet on the door that has come off and you will either to put it back on or purchase a new one. Please consult your owner's manual for further information. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Door to washer was pushed past regular open angle. Now the door will shut but the “de” error appears and machine will not work. What part will fix the problem?
For model number L G model WM2455H
Hello Cindy, thank you for your question. Yes, the DE error code in in relation to the door lock. We would recommend making sure the door hinges are not bent or warped and the door shuts evenly into the unit. If the DE code continues replacing the lock should fix the issue. I hope this helps!

I'm having trouble starting machine. Sometimes i have to try and start it as many as 10 times before it comes on.
For model number WM2277hs
Hello Paul, thank you for contacting us. This is most likely due to a faulty Door Lock Assembly. This part number PS3533609 is the correct replacement for your model washer. You may also want to consider the Rotor Position Sensor Assembly, part number PS3529186 as the cause. Good luck with your repair!

Our front load washing machine will not start. When plugged in to the electric outlet the start panel will not light up. LG recommended enhance appliance service and the repair man said it was the filter board, but that did not start the machine. Could it be the door latch is faulty so the machine power won't come on? We often had an error message for the door but there didn't seem to be any reason for the message.
For model number WM2301H
Hello Barbara, Thank you for the question. Normally if the latch is defective, the power will still come on and the unit will light up but some operations would not work, such as spinning. This sounds like an issue with the main board, Part Number: PS3533768. Thank you for your inquiry, good luck with this repair!

Washer would not operate. It displayed an error code not described in manual
From previous experiences with other washers, i.e., Sears, I decided it was the mother board or the door latch component. Ordered the electronics and then the discovery that LG has an APP for iPhone. Loaded the app, placed the phone next the washer and pushed the button on the washer. The washer "talked" to the iPhone and within 15 seconds it told me there was a problem with the thermistor. Opened the back of the washer and looked under the tub for the thermistor and found the 2 connecting wires were hanging loose. Put the wires back into the thermistor connection and everything was back working.

    Door Lock Switch Replacement
The video from PartSelect showed removing the retaining ring from the rubber washer tub boot to then allow access the door lock located behind the boot for replacement. That ring can sometimes be a real pain to put back on. This can be avoided altogether!

It's much easier to access the door lock switch by removing the two retaining screws on the top cover of the washer found in the back of the machine. Remove the top cover and you can then reach down to remove the wiring connector, unscrew the two phillips screws on the front of the door latch and remove the door lock. Put the new switch on in reverse order; plug in the connector, replace all screws and the top cover, and you are done! This method took than 10 minutes from start to finish.

Please note that the washer should be unplugged from power while working on any electrical component.

Washer would not start, but if you disconnect it and plugged it in it started without pushing start button
It was easy to remove the rubber gasket to get at the door lock. Removing the door lock and replacing was simple enough, but getting the metal ring securing the gasket was cumbersome and challenging. This took most of the time.
However, after replacing the door lock it was obvious that this was not the problem. I had to remove the new part and replace the old one.
For future, it was the pob circuit board that was defective and had to replace it. Apparently this is not an uncommon problem as there are a number of UTube videos about this. This job was more involved and took me over an hour and resolved the issue.

ridiculously easy. removed the door gasket ring clamp. separated the gasket from the face. unscrewed the lock, removed the wire(gently). replaced the wire on the new lock. replaced the lock. replaced door gasket and ring clamp. washed clothes. Door lock was unable to disengage - couldn't open washer door after cycle. Would cycle constantly through three clicks and be unable to open the door. Eventually had to unplug to get it to stop clicking constantly, and after some careful prying, able to release the door to access the screws we'd n
Watched the easy video instructions on the product page and did the same on our machine - pop off the top, unscrew the plate from the front of the door inset. Its a little challenging to unplug the old lock assembly because it is a tight fit and not enough room for two hands to fit to provide a bit more leverage when pulling the power lines out, but once its out it is easy to install the new one and reattach the strike plate frame and top of the washer. Plugged back in and we were back in business. This $50 part ended up saving us at least $300 in repair fees to get it working again.

Incredibly fast shipping - arrived in less than 2 days - which was really helpful as we were unable to use the washing machine until we were able to get this fixed. Excellent pricing as well. Couldn't be happier I found this site and the product I needed so easily.
