Ice dispenser continued to dispense ice unless I turned it off all together
Removed the section of refrigerator that dispenses ice and water. Necessary to pry with object that does not scratch like plastic scraper. Then pull out and replace the switch Micro -- only has one Phillips screw holding switch. Replaced the dispenser and snapped on the New button assembly I broke and job was done. Works perfectly now..

The ice machine works fine, water works fine. When I push the ice dispenser, it will not drop down any ice or light up.1. What part do I need for my model number? 2. Do I remove the outer casing of the dispenser from the outside? Is there a video showing this?
For model number LFX31945ST/02
Hello Yvonne, Thank you for the question. We suggest testing the Micro Switches in the dispenser with a multi meter to check for continuity. The switch sits behind the pad or lever that is pressed to dispense ice. To remove the Dispenser outer case, you would need a flat tool or a putty knife so that you could pop it out of place. There are little tabs all around the perimeter that hold it in. If you use a putty knife I would suggest taking a piece of masking tap to dull the edge a bit. That may help protect your appliance from any scratching. Once you have that dispenser housing off, the switches would be right there behind it for you to change out. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Looking for the correct micro switch for the ice maker dispenser. I am not sure if it is 402c or 402e based on the diagram for my model. The ice maker was intermittently dispensing ice, then stopped. I can hear the lever depress the switch and the light comes on but the dispenser does not activate. Water also works properly.

LG fridge Not dispensing water
For model number LMXS30776S/01
Hi Kevork,
Thank you for your question. If your refrigerator is not dispensing water, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the water dispenser button, the plastic water tube, the micro switch and the water inlet valve. We hope this helps! Good luck with the repair!

Hello James, Thank you for the question. This could indicate the Auger Motor is weak and not strong enough to turn with a fill bin of ice. We hope this helps!
