Refrigerator Evaporator/Condensor Fan Grommet WR02X10098

The only part that I should had used was the condensor fan motor,which it was so easy to remove,and instaled the new one,then replaced the missing parts and problem solved. The technician before me,declare the unit a total loss,there for after doing that, he took the rest of the parts with him for his own benefit. The condensor fan in the unit appeared to have been chewed by a mouse and would not function. We had a service call to verify this and ordered the parts. Delivery was extremely quick and we were able to complete the repair and place the unit back into service within 2 hours.

All that was necessary was to remove the bottom cardboard cover, replace the fan and grommets, and replace the door bushings.

took one screw that held the whole fan housing on, its a tight fit to try and pull it out cause of the copper lines in the back so I just turned it enough to where I could get to the 2 screws on the fan bracket, took the old fan and the rubber grommets out and replaced them! Put everything back together and works like new! Nice and quite! Plus I saved about $200-300 if a tech. would have came and fixed it!

Easy Peasey. Had to make one adjustment 24 hours later. Set the fan too far into the shroud. After the adjustment it works great!!!

First I removed the left condensor fan motor bracket nut, loosened the right motor bracket, dropped the moter bracket down freeing the motor from the rubber grommets.
Pulled the fan off from the motor shaft, pressed the new fan on the shaft and installed new grommets. Replaced the motor bracket and tightened the right bracket nut and checked fan for clearance and free spin. Reinstaled the left bracket nut. Turned on the refrigerator and checked fan for action. Everything worked great.
I did not know the fan replacement came with a compression ring already installed, so now I have an extra compression ring.

Wow, end result was amazing. I had to place my ear close to the refrigerator to find out if the fan was working. So quiet. Prior to this we could hear it in the bedroom. I replaced the fan motor, blade, grommets, i.e. the whole fan train. There were two screws holding the fan which were removed. (After removing the back panel.) Then removed the old blade and dust cap. Detached the wiring harness at the junction. Then reassemble in the reverse order. I screwed up the 1st time...installed the front motor grommet in reverse. Fan blade was not centered. Resulted in a few mins rework. Actually spent more time cleaning all the dust from the compartment and behind the refer than it took to install the new fan system. Did I say that I couldn't be more pleased with the no noise result?

The hardest part of the repair was emptying the freezer, next was getting the fan off of the motor shaft, The only reason the job was difficult is because i am 67 years old and not as flexible as i used to be.I had a tough time getting the fan off of the motor shaft, but i got it off with the use of a vise, and had to use the hammer and a socket to install a new fan blade.

Well the repair would have consisted of simply removing the old fan, and installing the new one, however, the replacement fan sent had a female connector on it, when it should have been a male connector. So, I had to take the connector off the old fan, and splice it onto the new one. This turned a really simple job into more of a project, which I was not planning on.

I watched the video provided by PartSelect twice, then proceeded with the removal and installation. It took me 40 minutes from start to finish. Piece of Cake. Everything works fine now.
