Water Pressure Switch Hose

I replaced both the tube and the pressure switch and still no luck. turns out that i didn't need either part. the little box that the tube hooks on to at the bottom left of the tub had a clog in it. we disconnected the tube from the switch and just blew through it. the clog broke loose and my washer works again!! decided that i was leaving the new parts on the machine. one less thing to worry about in the future.... ????

Unplug the appliance first! I removed the front panel and then the top panel with the lid by removing the two screws in the front and pulling up and out and unplugging the electrical connector. I then removed the 4 star screws from the top of the control section. The pressure switch is removed by pressing down on the tab and rotating it. I installed the new pressure switch and connected the three wires one at a time. I then re-routed the new hose and connected both ends. I reassembled everything and tested the new sensor by allowing the machine to fill with water. It now works properly.

was a toss up between the water inlet valve OR the hose pressure switch....why spend more time...I invested in both the water inlet valve and the hose pressure switch and replaced them both....I have the machine torn apart....I spend $45 more dollars...now it's ALL done....and works like a charm...if I were to isolate the problem...I would say, now, the hose pressure switch...but, I am happy and machine probably has 5 plus, more years left...and life is good.

Repair was simple. Initially thought the problem was the Water Level pressure swith, but since water overflow was only happening when selecting cold wash & during the rinse cycle (Always cold water) the Dual Valve Selenoid replacement FIXED the problem. Took 5 minutes to replace.

First figured out tool to use to remove outer covering on control area. Then unplugged units from electric wiring and replugged with new parts.
Parts arrived in a very short time was very pleasantly surprised with the short turn around on ordering and recieving parts.

I removed four hex screws from the top of the washer. I found the water level pressure switch and removed the dial. I turned it to remove it from the holding bracket. I removed both wires one at a time and placed them in the new switch one at a time so I wouldn't get them mixed up. I put the new switch in place and put the top back on using the hex screws. The dial was replaced. When I tested the dial I found that the dial did not match up to the water settings. They didn't even come close. Although the numbers were close on the switches, they were different. I had to remove the new switch and put the old one back on until I can locate the correct switch for my washer.

I dissasembled the machine and it took about 30 minutes. Orderd the parts recommended for noisy spinning. Reinstalled the new parts / changed all drum straps. Cleaned the drain drum and spin drum and after complete reassembly the washer is still noisy in agitation and spin cycle. The motor,transmission,counter weight,and drum look ok but there is still a reason why the machine is still noisy. Spent 120.00 dollars on parts so far but the drum and motor,transmission and counterweight are very expensive to replace. I am just going to keep using the machine until the washer fails to work anymore. I'm not going to put any more money in the washer. I will just buy a new one. It's not hard to dissasembled and reassemble the washer. I purchased the parts that was recommended to fix the washer but they were not the ones.The new parts did help like the tub seal but the bottom line is that the washer is still noisy. I watched your videos to work on the washer and there were no special instructions on disassembly and reassembly. Like always there must be more than i know to repair this washer. Thanks

The repair went just like the video! Easier than I would've hoped.

Removed the screws from the control panel and flipped it open. Used putty knife to pop the retaining clips that held the front panel of the washer in place to expose the drum itself. Noticed black gunk build up in hose connecting the drum to the water level pressure switch.

Disconnected the hose at both ends. Attached the new hose to the pressure switch and proved it was working by blowing into the hose and getting the water to stop flowing into the washer.

Taped the old hose to the new hose so I could use it as a pull-wire to guide the new hose through its protected housing. Attached the other end of the new hose to the tub and voila, all was well.

I figured it had to be a water level shut off problem because I could still do other functions on the dial so I found you tube videos on suggested repair and disassembling. they were very helpful. and then searched Bing for Hotpoint and partsselect came up and they also had helpful instructions. I ordered the parts they suggested ;[;a water level selection switch and hose ] and had them in2 days put the hose on first and tried it and that was the problem sent the switch back for refund. they made it very easy the parts also came with very complete instructions I swear, it was like they sent their technician to show me what to do. great company
