Overflowing ice maker creating glacier on back wall
No instructions came with the replacement control board. A notice that this part supercedes the original circuit board part number would have been helpful, although it is noted on the web site IF you drill into the parts list deep enough. Diagrams on the web site gave a general location for the circuit board.

Swap-out of the boards was relatively easy, although some of the connectors were reluctant to separate.

The new control board solved the overflowing ice maker issue.

Would the main control board be able to make the control panels stop working?
PartSelect logo
Hi Tomas, That is a good question. If the main control board is not working correctly it can cause the control panel to stop working. There may also be an issue with the touchpad/or controls as well and you will need to test the parts with a multimeter to see which parts are causing the issue. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

This fridge was transported on its side for 250 miles on a trailer. The fan runs but the compressor does not start. Where should I start looking? Controller board or compressor control box?
For model number PFSF5NJWABB
PartSelect logo
Hello Gary, Thanks for your question. The main control board is likely but you may also want to test the part number PS6883663, inverter kit with jumpers. Test the switches with a multi-meter for continuity and replace them if they do not show continuity. I hope this helps.

My freezer will not stay frozen and water is found on freeze floor and kitchen floor by freezer section. Also refrigerator section temp will reach 42 degree at times when set at 32
For model number pss26pswass

Hi Gene, thank you for your question. When you are having temperature problems in your fridge, there are a few parts that could cause the issue. You can use a multi meter to test most of the parts. Make sure you cut power to your appliance before doing any repairs or tests. First you should test your defrost thermostat. Place the thermostat in ice cold water for 2-3 minutes after removing it from your appliance. It should be reading 0 ohms to be working correctly. Another part to check would be your defrost heater. Remove it from the appliance. It should be reading anywhere between 0 - 50 ohms to be working. You could check your temperature sensor. To find the correct reading for this part you will have to refer to your tech sheet that comes with your appliance. You can usually find this tech sheet behind the bottom grille of your fridge on either the right or left side. These are the most common parts that cause this issue in your appliance. So it is suggested you check them first. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

After replacing the control board with wr55x10956/wr01f00204, the fan will come on but it will not connect to the compressor. When the old control board is put back it, it makes a connection to the compressor and then turns off but it makes a connection. Should we be looking at a new compressor or another control board?

O painel de controle da porta começou a piscar e parou de funcionar, não mais gerando gelo e liberando água. Qual a solução?
For model number DSHS9NGYACSS

Frig and freezer get to correct temp, hours later temps warm ice melts, hours later goes back to temp. Up and down with temps over a period of hours...will new board fix this?
For model number PFCS1PJXASS
PartSelect logo
Hello Glen, thank you for the question. I suggest testing the Defrost Thermostat, PartSelect Number PS966762. The best way to do this is to remove the thermostat from the refrigerator so you can control the temperature of the sensor. You can let the sensor warm up to room temperature. With the sensor warmed up to room temperature the sensor should read approximately 6.2K Ohms at 68°F. With the thermistor submerged is a glass full of ice water, the sensor should be very close to 32°F which should read approximately 16.3K Ohms. If the values that you are getting are far off from these readings, then the sensor is bad and should be replaced. Thank you for your inquiry, good luck with this repair!
