Freezer just quit. Flipped rocker switch to refridgerate and refridge worked. So I ordered the Freezer control which is called "Electronic Control".
This is a convertible. You can use it as a freezer or a refrigerator. I was using it as a freezer when it suddenly quit. We have been getting some power surges lately so I guess that's what caused the malfunction. Went online and found the part I thought would fix it. (Since my part wouldn't even light up and the other control would). When the part came in 3 days later, I removed the bottom crisper bins and the glass shelf above them. Plus I removed the next shelf to allow room to remove the back panel. I also removed the shelf supports. Using a power driver I removed all the screws holding the back panel in place. Then un- clipped the wiring harness going to the controls. Then removed the bad controller. Replaced with new part and clipped back together the wire harness. Plugged unit in and set rocker switch to freeze. The unit came on and new part lit up and allowed me to adjust the temp numbers. I set it to 4. Been working great since.

Freezer acted dead
Lost all the food. Cleaned out the insides. read some Q and A on this freezer online. Took apart the inside panels...found the schematic on the back corner of the freezer. Eliminated the themostat and fan as the problem. Located online the manual as my wife lost the original paperwork. Gambled the control unit was the problem. Ordered it. It arrived ontime. Installed it. Freezer ran. Put the freezer back together. The thermometer I bought a long time ago said it was at 30 degrees below zero. I adjusted it up to 20 below and it has been running great. Thank You.

We have never used the freezer side-always frig. After a storm last Thursday. It stopped working and refrigerator control does not light up. Flipped it to freezer side and it works and is cooling. Will changing refrigerator control fix this? Is it just a matter of popping out a panel box?

Hello Mary, Thank you for the question. It does sound like there was a power surge and burnt out the Temperature Control Board for the Fridge PartSelect Number PS2373464. The board just snaps into place. Hope this helps!

My freezer runs continuously no matter what setting I have it on. If I turn it to 0 it will shut off but other than that it stays running. Everything in the freezer is frozen and there is no ice buildup but the fact that the compressor is always on and hot worries me. I have read about replacing the thermistor or thermostat but when I search for those using my model #, it only lists the defrost thermostat. I am not so sure that's what I need. Please help!

Hi Matthieu, thank you for your question. When you are having temperature problems in your fridge, there are a few parts that could cause the issue. You can use a multi meter to test most of the parts. Make sure you cut power to your appliance before doing any repairs or tests. First you should test your defrost thermostat. Place the thermostat in ice cold water for 2-3 minutes after removing it from your appliance. It should be reading 0 ohms to be working correctly. Another part to check would be your defrost heater. Remove it from the appliance. It should be reading anywhere between 0 - 50 ohms to be working. You could check your temperature sensor. To find the correct reading for this part you will have to refer to your tech sheet that comes with your appliance. You can usually find this tech sheet behind the bottom grille of your fridge on either the right or left side. These are the most common parts that cause this issue in your appliance. So it is suggested you check them first. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Hi Donald, Thank you for your question. I would suggest first taking a look at your defrost thermostat and make sure that it is working correctly. You would be able to test that part with a multi meter. If that part is fine then then problem may actually lay in your control board. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

My freezer runs continuously no matter what setting I have it on. If I turn it to 0 it will shut off but other than that it stays running. Everything in the freezer is frozen and there is no ice buildup but the fact that the compressor is always on and hot. Also both yellow and red lights are lite on bottom panel and buzzer sounds when toggle is on.

Hello Shannon, thank you for asking! Prior to everything else please clean the condenser coils and make sure its fan is working. Also, inspect the door seals and make sure no warm air is leaking into the refrigerator. A constantly running compressor is an indication of a warm refrigerator or freezer. Frosted evaporator coils can also cause this problem. Due to frosted coils, cool air won't be able to pass through the coils and hence cooling capacity gets reduced. To maintain the cooling capacity, the compressor will run an extra mile to compensate. So, we will be looking at two parts to replace, defrost thermostat, part number PS2350702, and the electronic control board, part number PS2363966. Both or one of them is the culprit. If this does not help, we would recommend replacing the compressor kit, part number PS2583042. If upon inspection you find the evaporator fan is not running then the evaporator motor, part number PS3502361, might be the culprit. Customer service is available 7 days a week if you need help placing an order. Glad to be of assistance!
