Fixed broken knobs and switch
First, I unplugged the dryer. Then, I removed the back panel from the controls section (6 screws), disconnected the old switch and reconnected the new switch. Positioning the switch in the control panel took some figuring out, but once I realized that the switch slots into place, and then gets locked in by turning 1/8 of a turn, it worked fine.
Replacing the knobs was a cinch, just popped them in place. Now the controls are like new again.
Frigidaire controls are really junk, though. I won't be surprised if I have to do this repair again in two years.

Washer would not drain or spin
removed the two screws on the back of the washer that holds the washers top down. Then lifted it up. Unplugged the electrical from the part (made sure to note where they came from). Then unscrewed the two screws, plugged in the electrical, screwed the screws into the back. I am a stay at home mom and I fixed it in under ten minutes. (I also figured out what the problem was:) I had ordered a new washer, but after some research, I saved $1000!

I had 3 knobs break on my washer and had been using pliers to turn them. This is not the first time I've had broken knobs either. I think I must either be a Hercules or they are poorly made!

Dryer Knob inside piece broke
Like the review of the guy who said "no story to tell. received knob and popped it on." I did not realize when I spoke to the Fridgedaire 1-800 number that I needed the model number; even though, I had the part number of the knob. When I came across your website, I entered the part number which was on the back of the knob and your website brought up the correct item I needed. I had seen the part on another website and your pricing was more than half off their price. Plus you shipped it directly to me two days later.
Thanks, fm

Knob needed replaced.
I ordered a new knob on 12/22 and received it 12/27. Put in place of the broken knob, all fixed! ! ! All the appliances in my home are Frigidaire. I bought medium priced machines. W/D are about 7 years old. Dishwasher is about 5 years old. Fridge and stove are about 3 years old. They have all served me well and when they need replaced, I will shop for Frigidaires.

Does the timer knob include a metal clip inside the d-shaped connector? That piece broke as well as the knob where it slides onto the metal timer stem.
For model number GLGR642AS3
Hello Mary,
Thanks for your question. Yes, the clip is included with this timer knob. If any of the shaft that this knob attaches to broke, you will need a new timer, part number PS419017.
I hope this helps.

The timer knob turns and turns. Unable to choose a drying time. No idea what it's set for. So if I replace that knob it should work ok with that new knob in place?
For model number GLER642AS3
Hi Mary, Thank you for the question. If it is just the knob that turns freely then replacing it will fix the issue. If you remove the knob and the shaft that the knob slips onto is also turning freely without stopping, then the Timer Switch will need to be replaced, Part Number: PS419017. Hope this helps!
