Top four burners on oven would not light without using match
Really simple..Opened the top of the oven and followed the four wires hooked to the igniters on the burners to the back of the oven. Unscrewed top section in back of oven. Found spark module screwed to uppper back of oven on right side. Used a nutdriver to take a few screws out of upper back of oven. Unscrewed spark module from oven. There are six wires - four to the burners and two to the power supply....Wires are attached by connectors so didn't have to do anything but pull the connectors off the old spark module one at a time and push them onto the new spark module matching postion of each wire. Screwed spark module back onto back of oven. Screwed back section of oven back onto rear of oven, and that was it. Works perfectly. Saved more than $100 for service call and whatever elevated price they'd charge me for the spark module.

two of four burners ignited
replaced all four top burner spark electrodes. the same two still didnt work. I had also purchased spark module and that did fix the problem. Lifting the cook top was difficult. I was afraid of breaking the sealed burners. Note there are directions in envelope on the back side of the stove. /use pliers to remove connectors from module. >Getting the top open was the hardest and most time consuming.

Spark was present in only two of four burners
Repair was quite easy. Remove four screws and lay back sheet metal panel. Transfer wires from one module to the other and then put new module in place. replaced the sheetmetal panel. Spark now presen at all burners. One small thing worth mentioning. Each burner has a gas distrubution cap and that cap has a small hole to the spark cavity. One of these was pluged with grease and that kept the burner from lighting until this hole was cleared.

stove top burner ignition spark progressively got weaker and then stopped on all but one burner.
I located the igniter module by following the wires to the top/rear of the stove. Removed two sheet metal guards and marked and numbered each electrical wire before removing them. Reasembled in reverse order. Wife thinks I'm a genius!

Range burners would not light
Lift up work light cover. Remove lamp. Remove two screws from control panel. Lift up control panel. Pop out spark module from slots. Remove the 6 wires from module. Attach wires to new module - module has a diagram on it that shows where wires are attached. Push new module back into slots. Replace control panel cover, lamp, and work light. Now the burners light - the spark is MUCH stronger than before repair.

Replaced igniter pins but no joy, needed igniter module
Most videos show getting to the igniter module from the front when in fact with this older GE its accessed through the back left corner from the backside. So easy, a few screws and I was in. Quick change out and all worked well again.

None of the top burners will light, and the typical clicking noise before the burner ignites isn't present. Do I just need the ignitors, or should I also replace the ignitor module? Thank you!
For model number C2S980SEM3SS
PartSelect logo
Hi Debra, Thank you for the question. If none of the cooktop burners are making the click noise and are not igniting you will need to replace the harness with all the switches that sit behind the knobs, PartSelect Number PS2321327. This harness has all the small square switching that make the click noise to create the spark to igniter the burners. They are all attached to the same harness so if one is defective or the harness becomes defective all the switches will stop working. Hope this helps!

With all knobs in the "off" position, the stove will send random ignition sparks. Is that caused by a bad spark module or some other wiring problem?
For model number JGP336BEV2BB
PartSelect logo
Hi Mike, Thank you for your question. If the burners are sparking sporadically on their own, then the issue is likely with the either the spark module or one of the gas valve switches and you will need to check the parts to see which one is causing the issue. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Out of 4 stove top burners 3 light up with no problem upon turning the oven knobs. The right rear one will only light via match . ? Is this a spark module problem or is it a top burner spark electrode issue
For model number RGB745WEH2WW
PartSelect logo
Hello Scotty, thank you for your question. The most likely issue is the electrode itself. If its just the one burner that has to be lit with a match I would recommend replacing the burner electrode part number Top Burner Spark Electrode PartSelect Number: PS952858. Good luck with your repair!

I have main burner problem, it only had one spark every time I turn on the valve, all other valve works fine (has continue sparks for ignition). I would like to know the problem was caused by the spark module or the valve?
For model number JGP336WEV4WW

Hi Rei, Thank you for the question. I suggest replacing the Surface Burner Spark Electrode, PartSelect Number PS231276. This part helps your burner ignite and produce flame. Hope this helps!

After I have turned all the burners off after use, occasionally I will hear the click like something is trying to light. What could this be? Spark module?
For model number RGB745WEA8WW
PartSelect logo
Hello Robert, Thank you for the question. I suggest starting with the Burner Ignition Switch,PartSelect Number PS236544 first. If the Switch is good you may need to replace the Burner Spark Module PartSelect Number PS231281. Hope this helps!

Some food boiled over on my gas stovetop. Cleaned stove top with damp towel and now all 4 burners won't click to ignite. Able to still light with a match, gas is flowing but no click from any of them anymore and they all worked just minutes before this incident. Is the primary issue most likely with the spark module or with the wiring harness? which should i try to replace first?
For model number JGP932BEC1BB
PartSelect logo
Hello Alex, thank you for your question. The first part we would recommend replacing is the spark module as this is located under the top. If that doesn't fix the issue, the ignition switches would have to be replaced. I hope this helps!

My gas cook top trips gfci when plugged in. I know it doesn't have to be plugged into a gfci, but that is how the outlet below the cook top was wired. Any idea if this would be spark module harness or switches? This is a follow up from yesterday's questions with the full model number. Thanks
For model number Kenmore 911.32385890
PartSelect logo
Hello and thank you for writing. Yes, Mark, I remember your question. My concern with this gfci plus is that it might be too sensitive and therefore trips which would cause you to change parts that are not really defective, however if this problem is new and the unit was working fine before your only option would be to replace the spark module PS231276 as the wiring harness for the unit is NLA. You can, however, follow the wires and connections (in the harness)to make sure they have not become loose or brittle. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime if you require further assistance.

Burners do not click therefore do not light they will light via match only. What part numbers do i need thank you
For model number JGBP33CEH3CC

Hello Frank, thank you for your question. I would recommend replacing the spark module. If none of the burners are lighting the most likely issue is the module. I hope this helps!

This is a follow-up to my rear burner not clicking when the switch is set to lite but the front one does (front one also clicks when its switch is set to lite). Why would this happen if not the burner ignitor module?
For model number JGBP35BEA7BB
PartSelect logo
Hi Arnie, Thank you for the question. The Burner Ignition Switch is the part that makes the click noise. If the other burners make the click noise and it is just the one burner then the module shoudl be fine.Hope this helps!
