Regular Parts Replacement/Maintenance.
We love our Jenn-Air electric range that we have owned since 1983 and couldn't get parts from where we bought it recently. We called around to Sears and other appliance dealers and they couldn't help us. We found your company searching on the internet and we are very much pleased with your parts listing and your great service. We will be back. Jody and Mike Hayden, Eden, Vt.

Fan switch burned out, Burner switch only worked on HIGH.
Well, since the circuit breaker blew when the fan switch burned out, I was hoping to get a new counter-top range out of this. But, no such luck. My son opened up the control module (2 screws under the fan grill) and found the problem. Then I decided that if I needed to replace ONE part, I'd replace ALL of the parts that didn't work and were worn out.
First I turned off the breaker all the way, then, since the module was open anyway (it pulls out about 2 inches), I only had to remove the old fan switch using the socket set, and replace it, wire-for-wire with the new one. The flange needed to be filed down a bit because it was wider than the original, but not a problem to do. I had to use the original nuts to hold in the new one. The new ones are smaller. Just used the socket set in reverse
....done!
The burner switch and knobs were a little more of a problem but only because ordering them didn't follow the rules...I needed series 3 parts, even though I had a "Run 01" range top. With the help of a very nice customer service rep, I got the correct parts the next day and replaced the burner swich the same way...used a socket set to loosen and remove the old switch and connected the new one wire-for-wire, and again needed to use the original washer and nut. (The wrong model that I initially received had a new washer and nut in the bag with the switch.) But, again, no problem.
The control knobs just pull off and push on...simple.
Now that I had a nearly new range top, I spent another 2 hours REALLY cleaning it (Dawn Power Dissolver is GREAT!). Looks almost like new! I guess I won't be getting a new range top for another 22 years now.....

Switches on my range top quit working! Range top is over 20 years old. Local appliance parts store said they could not get parts I needed! What a great feeling I had when I found the parts I needed at PartSelect. I was able to see excellent pictures of the parts, consequently I felt safe ordering
I unplugged the range top power cord. I used a phillips screw driver and crescent wrench to remove the old range top switches. I disconnected the wires from the switches. I reconnected the wires to the new switches and installed the switches into the range top switch panel. This took about one hour. I plugged in the power cord. The range top works great and looks great with the new switches.

Both the 8'' burner and the vent fan didn't work.
1st-turned off breaker, 2nd- took out the two screws that hold the control panel and lifted it up so I could remove the surface unit switch,3rd- removed wires from old switch and securing nut and removed old switch,4th- installed new switch and plugged in wires, then turned on breaker to see if burner would work and it did. 5th-turned off breaker again and removed the wires from the fan switch and used nut driver to remove retainer nuts,6th-installed new fan switch and plugged in wires, 7th- put control console back in place and the two screws that hold it in place. Turned breaker back on and everything worked.Didn't use the burner receptacle or burner.

Switches were worn out (2) and shorting out. Throwing the breaker. Actually I think the ladies boyfriend/ fiance' tried to replace the knobs that were broken with universal knobs. They didn't fit so he forced them and broke the switches internally.
Shut off the breaker! Removed down draft grill. Removed two phillips head screws and lifited switch plate out. Removed switches (2) and made wiring diagram as I went. Looked up Jenn-Air on line and ordered parts. Lost wirihng diagram in the process but still had two switches wired . Replaced all four switches. Everything working great. However while I was waiting on switches to arrive, somebody at the house was fooling with the switch plate and broke the on red indicater lens so now I'm ordering that. Oh well....

Our electric panel is outside, and one of our California deluges soaked in the breakers for our Jenn-Air cooktop. My husband dried the area and breakers, reinserted it, but our cooktop's heating elements are not receiving power. The fan works, the lights work. Is there a breaker on the underneath of our cooktop? Or do I need these "infinite" switch replacements? Would that be all of the switches on the top, or is that a control under the cooktop. We are not handy by any stretch of the imagination, so if these are dumb questions, sorry. Ours is 47 inch wide, ca 1987, electric, 4 burners, grill and frywell. I cannot find parts for the frywell either. Model number C301 and serial number 346818RR.

Hi Elizabeth, Thank you for your question. If the elements on top of the stove are not lighting, you will need to check the check the electric burners, the switches and the terminal wiring with a multimeter to see which part is causing the issue. To test the terminal wires, Visually inspect the terminal block for any signs of damage, cracking, or burning. Using a multimeter on the Rx1 setting, touch the probes to the terminals. If your receptacle has multiple sets of terminals, test each set individually. If there is continuity, your multimeter will produce a reading of zero. If you receive any reading other than zero, you will need a replacement receptacle. To test the switches, place your multimeter on Rx1 mode, test for continuity by touching the L1 and H1 terminals with the probes. Once you have completed that test, touch the probes to the L2 & H2 terminals. If your test results indicate that there is no continuity between one or both sets of terminals, you need a replacement infinite switch. To test for a shorted element, touch each of the terminals one at a time with one probe while holding the other probe to the outside surface of the element. If either terminal show continuity, it is defective. To test the entire element for continuity, place each of the probes on the terminals, one on each. The exact reading you should receive varies between models, refer to your owner’s manual to determine what yours should be, but if any element has a reading outside of 19 to 115 ohms, it is defective. If you do not receive the correct readings from the tests above or find damage on your element, you will need a replacement surface burner element. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Tried to replace Infinite burner control switch on 40 year old Jenn Air cooktop. Old part has these numbers: INF-240P-871 201241 240VAC Part number on the package of the new switch: 700855K. Old one has different markings for the wires than the new one, and the new one has a place for a wire that is labeled with a blue dot. The old one does not have this. I labeled the wires with the labels from old switch, and put them on the new switch with the same labels. Must have done something wrong, because when we turned the breaker back on, the knob made a popping sound. We immediately turned breaker back off, assuming the switch is ruined? If we order a new one, how can we install it correctly? Also, the shaft was not aligned "squarey" with the switch. In order for my knob to work, the flat side of the D needs to be parallel to the front (top) of the switch. Instead, it's slanted.

Hi Jerry, thank you for reaching out. We have found the instructions to install the infinite switch, part number PS2076107. These may not be of the same model but will help you in installation. You may need to follow these steps: 1. Shut off the circuit breaker. 2. Remove the vent grill and locate the screws that hold the control panel and then remove them. 3. Pop the knob off and pull it straight off. 4. Take off the nut with the wrench. 5. Lift the control panel straight up, you have to slide it forward a little, and then pick it up. 6. Under the control panel, you'll see the infinite switches. 7. Took the one out that is labeled P l1 l2 top a ch2 h2 and h1. 8. Once you get all the wires, fastened them back onto the new infinite switch. 9. Secure the nut at the top with the wrench. 10. Tight it and make sure that the orientation for your knob is correct. 11. Push it in and make sure that it pops up to the off position. 12. Follow the steps backward to complete the installation. We hope this information helps!
