My ice maker stopped working but my water in the door works is that the dual valve that stopped working and is what i need

Hi Tony, Thank you for your question. You can test your valve with a multi meter to check. There are two different solenoids on your valve. One to send water up to the ice maker and one to send water to your water dispenser. I would suggest testing the part to be sure. Good luck with your repair.

I have a gi0fsaxvy010 Whirlpool refrigerator. Needed water valve replacement. Repairman used pn 67006322. Parts list for gi0fsaxvy010 shows wpw10312696 water valve. The removed part number is w10312696. Did the repairman use wrong replacement part? The replaced part is over filling the ice maker and leaking water through the door ice shute and the ice maker is making chunk ice, not cubes.

Hello Edward, Thank you for your question. The correct water valve for your model is under part PS11752594 on our site, the number the repairman used is not showing compatible in our database, thus we suggest replacing the valve again using the correct part number. We hope this helps.

How can i be sure this is the part i need, it appears my problem could either be the water inlet valve or the ice maker itself, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

How do you test the selenoids in the dual valve? I do have a meter. The water works on the door but the ice maker is not working. No water going to the ice maker
For model number MFI2269VEM10

Hi Glenn, Thank you for your question. You can test your valve with a multi meter to check for continuity. There are two different solenoids on your valve. One to send water up to the ice maker and one to send water to your water dispenser. I would suggest testing the part to be sure. Good luck with your repair.

My refrigerator is making a loud noise when water is sent to the ice maker. It makes ice just fine. The water pressure from the door is poor and also makes a loud noise like a bad motor running. I replaced the water filter and had strong pressure for a couple hours. Water pressure is good from the pipe, so i wonder if it could be this valve.

Hello Jacob, thank you for writing. For this symptom you will want to consider either the Water Dispenser Actuator or the Water Inlet Valve, but we will need the model number for your refrigerator to locate the correct replacements. We look forward to hearing back from you.

I replaced the dual water valve because my ice maker was not working, but the water dispenser was operating fine. Now the ice maker is working great, however the water the dispenser now continues to run for a short time after using it. I have turned the water measure option to off. I tried adjusting the water pressure to the water inline into the refrigerator and it didn't stop the water from running a few seconds after the glass is removed. Is there an adjustment I need to make or another part that needs to be replaced? I didn't have this problem before replacing the valve.

Hi Cheryl, Thank you for your question. If there is water leaking from the dispenser, the issue is likely the water inlet valve and it will need to be replaced. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

The water dispenser works but when we take the glass/cup away from the dispenser, the dispenser continues to drip a stream of water for awhile. What would cause this and how can it be repaired.
For model number MF12269VEW1
PartSelect logo
Hello Jeff, Thank you for the question. If your refrigerator water dispenser is dripping water, it could be because there is air trapped in the water line that is causing a build up of pressure that is forcing some water to seep through the dispenser opening. You should purge the tank if this is happening. All you'll need to do is get a cup and hold it under the dispenser, pressing in the trigger to fill the cup. Keep running the water dispenser for two to three minutes. This should be ample time to get all the air out of the tank and stop the problem if this is in fact the cause. Hope this helps!

On the dual water vale should the solinoids read ohms when fridge isn’t plugged in and wire harness is removed?
For model number mfi2269vem10
PartSelect logo
Hi Bruce, thank you for your question. The valve can be tested with a multi meter and should be reading between 500 - 1500 ohms of resistance. The valve should be reading ohms when out of the appliance as you should never test it while it is plugged in. Good luck with your repair.
