The compressor is "clanking" when the fridge turns off. Could it be these grommets have failed? They are in place and not broken. Should they be soft to absorb the vibration and movement? They appear to be hard. The fridge still works great except for this noise.

Thanks for your question. Yes, the grommets are a typical reason for this type of noise to occur. You may want to replace them, as they should not typically be that hard.
