Mother-in-law dropped a pan on the ceramic glass top
Turn off the circuit breaker to the oven and put tape over the switch of the circuit breaker so your mother-in-law won't accidently turn it on. Removed the bottom false tray and disconnected the down draft flex hose. Pulled the oven out from the center island. Removed all of the top phillip screws, marked a zip lock bag for each different type of screws. Laid a telephone book and a towell on the top shelf of the oven. Removed the broken glass and carefully laid the new glass in place and reconnected the screws and put the oven back in place and reconnected the flex hose for the down draft. Make notes in disconnecting and reconnecting the front knobs and face plate to the stove (let the wires hang with the front plate) along with some side plates.

no oven heat -cook top cracked a while ago
the bake element was a snap. i took the back cover off i may not have had to do that but i was replacing the cook top anyway. so 4 screws and two quick electrical connectors

the cook top was a little more involved but just screws. you will figure out which screws to remove. then put them back.maybe 20 screws.if you look at the bottom of the new top you can see where the screws go.this took the most time.

No problem
I pulled the stove out and unplugged it. I looked at the new glass top and was easy to see which screws to take out. I made a mistake and pulled the knobs off and took the screws behind the knobs off, leave the knobs alone you don’t need to touch them.. on EACH SIDE of stove towards the front there is a long channel held on with a screw at the top and bottom Take this off on each side to get to the hidden screw. Other than that pretty simple.

The burners on our cooktop take a long time to heat up . The cooktop is cracked. If we replaced the cooktop would that fix the issue of the burners being slow to heat up?
PartSelect logo
Hello Della, Thank you for your inquiry. That could be the cause of the problem, but I would check the burners and infinite switches as well. You can test the parts with a multimeter to see if they are working properly. Hope this helps!
