Frig makes noise in freezer. I can hit the unit and noise stops for a while. It will start again after a short while. Some times i will start with no noise and other times it starts with noise. If i need a fan motor which one? There is a condinser motor and another motor. Will i need other parts too?
For model number GTH18GBDDRWW
Hello George, thank you for your question. You most definitely need the fan motor. The motor you need is the Evaporator Fan Motor - 115V 60Hz PartSelect Number: PS10063450. You might need the blade, which is part number Evaporator Fan Blade PartSelect Number: PS1018129. I would recommend removing the back panel of the freezer to see if the blade is broken before ordering. I hope this helps!

The freezer is working fine but the fridge is warm. Could it be the fan motor?
For model number GTH17DBDDRWW
Hi Roger, thank you for the question. First, you may need to check the fan motor, part number PS12741350, by doing a continuity test. The evaporator fan motor draws cold air over the evaporator coils and circulates it throughout the freezer. If the evaporator fan is not working, the freezer or refrigerator will not cool adequately. If the fan motor is not faulty, then you may need to check the temperature control thermostat, part number PS9493106. If the temperature control thermostat is not working properly, it may prevent the refrigerant system from running properly, resulting in the refrigerator compartment not cooling as expected. If the temperature control thermostat is faulty, you may need to replace it. If that is not causing the issue, then you may need to check the door gasket, part number PS2364916, for any damage. If the door gasket is twisted or torn, gaps can form that will allow warm air in, resulting in the refrigerator compartment being warm even though the freezer compartment is cold. If the door gasket is not damaged, you may need to check the defrost thermostat, part number PS1155320, and the defrost heater assembly, part number PS303768, as the defrost system may not be working. If the defrost system does not work, frost will continue to accumulate on the evaporator coils. This will result in cooling problems where the freezer compartment might appear to be cold but the refrigerator compartment is warm. We hope this helps!
My freezer is working ok but the refrigerator part is not getting cold. It also runs almost all of the time, shutting off infrequently. We pulled everything out of the freezer and the fan there is working, though it is a bit noisy. Ideas?
For model number gth18gbddrww
Hi Gary, thank you for the question. Based on our understanding of the issue, we would suggest checking the refrigerator door gasket, part number PS2371087, to fix the issue. It is used to seal the refrigerator door when closed to keep the cool air inside and the room air out. We hope this helps, good luck with this repair!
Evaporator fan motor makes loud noise in freezer compartment. Turning fridge off for 8-9 hours omits the noise for 3 days, but then the noise starts up again. Banging on the cover stops the noise for that cycle. Don't know fan motor part # for this model. Don't think its Wr60x10238.
