CIRCULATION PUMP Specifications
This drain pump helps your ice maker stay dry and work smoothly by clearing out extra water after each cycle. It kicks in automatically to remove water from the reservoir, stopping leaks and puddles before they start. If your ice machine is showing signs of moisture buildup or isn’t making ice like it used to, swapping out the pump could be the fix. It’s a small part that makes a big difference in keeping your appliance running right.

Water not refilling after initial batch of ice
The water filled on startup (actually over-filled, which was a clue). After that water was used to make ice, no new water came in so the recirculation pump just made whining noises in the mostly empty reservoir. Since water could come in (on start up) I reasoned it wasn't the water inlet valve, and everything else suggested the ice maker was getting inaccurate info about how much water was in the reservoir. Turns out, the water recirculation pump has a water level sensor built in. So while the pump itself still functioned, the water level sensor inside had gone bad. Replacing the pump fixed the issue. There are videos online that show how to accomplish that, but it was pretty straight-forward. The dis-assembly was sometimes irritating because it's hard to see and maneuver around inside. It'll help if you put the machine closer to eye level. Pay close attention to videos that show the disassembly because there are a couple of tabs that are hard to find.

Hi. The machine is making ice (though smaller and cloudy), but the water will drain out (or be pulled out) of the pan periodically resulting in very little water getting pulled up onto the chill plate. Would this be a pump issue? It sounds like the pump is struggling. Water is getting to the reservoir, just doesn't seem to stay there long enough to make the clear ice and correct thickness.

Hello John, thank you for contacting us. The issue is most probably related to a faulty circulation pump, part number PS16555297. It circulates the water over the evaporator plate to form a slab of ice. Customer service is available 7 days a week if you require assistance placing an order. Thanks again for reaching out!

My ice maker is making great ice, however it's overfilling the water pan and water leaks out and also out of the top above the ice cutter grate and falls onto the ice and melts it. Seems like some sensor is the issue. Is the PS16555298 my solution? Thank you.
For model number KUIX305ESS2
Hi Brian, thank you for contacting us. Yes, the issue could be with the ice make pump, part number PS16555298. Its primary function is to remove excess water from the defrost cycle and prevent leaks. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. We hope this solves your problem!
