Latch on detergent dispenser was broken
Reading the instructions posted, I realized that I only needed to remove the two lower screws on the inside of the dishwasher door. The lower front panel then came off easily. I unplugged the power to the dishwasher. I then removed the six screws holding the dispenser in place, and when loose I unplugged the two wires (I used a flat blade screwdrive to pry them a bit then they slid off -- note the red one was inside, lighter one outside). I put the new part in, put in all but the left screw with the hook. I then plugged the wires in, and fastened the left screw with the hook positioned around the wires. I put the panel back on, fastenet the two screws that hold it in, and plugged the dishwasher back in. It's working beautifully. All in all it was about 20 minutes.

dishasher Soap/Rinse Dispenser
The latch on the soap dispenser got worn out over the past few years on the dishwasher. I tried just puting the detergent into it and running it as usual. The detergent was added Immediatley.. missing the proper timing that would normally dispense it properly. As a result the dishes were not coming out clean and lacked the shiny clean quality we were accustomed to . I ordered the right part, got it quickly and put it in..and were back to doing dishes and having them come out the right way...spotless and clean like they should.

Soap dispenser wouldn't open until the very end of the cycle
I'm a stay-at-home mom of 3 kids, so I enlisted the help of my oldest son (5 years old) for this job while the 2 little ones were asleep! First we cut the power to the dishwasher, then we removed the 2 bottom screws on the stainless steel front and slid it off to expose the back of the dispenser. We removed the red and white wires from the left side of the dispenser, took out the 6 screws holding the dispenser in place, put in the new dispenser, hooked up the red and white wires (in the right order), and flipped the breaker back on! We ran a cycle to make sure it worked, and it did!! My husband was thrilled! He thought for sure we needed a new dishwasher! :o) Thank you, PartSelect!

Removing two screws on the inside of the door alows the outside panel to slide down and detach. The soap dispenser connects with six screws and two wires. Remove the dispenser through the inside of the door. Replace, reattach and reasseble in 15 minutes.

dispenser cap latch broke
I foloowed the others who repared the same item. I really appreciated their help and input. The only thing I would add is when they said that you only have to remove the bottom 2 screws on the inside of the dishwasher door they are absolutely correct. But don't look on the very bottom of the door like I did. They are on the inside of the door, facing inside. The bottom screw on each side. Thanks for all the help.

Detergent dispenser would not open during wash cycle
I removed the screws from the inside of the door. There are also tiny screws you have to remove that holds the part onto the door. Then I was able to remove the part, unplug the power receptacles and install the new part. Very simple!!

Cap would not close
At first I wasn't sure; I thought I had to buy the inner panel of the door. Considering that I have to minimize expenses I made it a point to tackle the problem myself. I unscrewed the outter panel off the dishwasher door and located the dispenser from inside of the inner door panel.

I unplugged the old dispenser, which was damaged, unscrewed it from the panel and removed it. I cleaned any and all debris, dirt and soap scum it had accumilated over the short years we've owned it.

Finally; after I prepared the new dispenser for installation, I placed it in position screwed it in and plugged it in, which was slightly tricky because it is pretty snug against the inside door panel. Once installed, I got my older son, 15, to help me screw in the outside panel of the door, and as he held it I screwed it on the the inside panel.

I tested it with no dishes inside by pouring just a little detergent in the new dispenser, starting the dishwasher and I stuck around in case there were any leaks or any other possible disaster that could occur.

This was exactly one week ago and all is still well. By the way, the person who took my order, I believe her name was Joann, was great. She talked to me making certain I had the right part, which I was unsure of since the diagram on your site was not quite clear. On top of that; I didn't pay for overnight service, yet my part was at my door the next day. I was amazed at the quick service and delivery. Thanks Joann!!!

My unit door spring broke but opens when washing. The lid doesn’t fully open for the lack of the spring. Can this dispenser be repaired by replacing the spring?
For model number 154574402
PartSelect logo
Hi Heriberto, Thank you for your question. The spring is sold with the detergent dispenser. In order to replace the spring you will need a new detergent dispenser. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Does the small opening in the middle of the dispenser (not the view indicator for rinse aid) have some sort of cover? If so, is there a way i could cover that opening without buying a whole new part? I'm also curious about what this opening accomplishes.
For model number FGBD2431KB1
PartSelect logo
Hello Carolyn, thank you for your question. Unfortunately, the round rinse aid cap is only sold with the whole dispenser. For your model the dispenser is Detergent and Rinse Dispenser with Cap 154574401. I hope this helps!

My detergent dispenser doesn't open during the wash cycle. It's a 20 year old Frigidaire, is it worth fixing?
For model number FDB750RCB0
PartSelect logo
Hello Dennis, Thank you for the question. This is normally caused by a worn out Wax Motor on the back of the dispenser, and the dispenser will need to be replaced. If this is the only issue with the appliance, we recommend replacing the dispenser. If you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!
