latch broke, door wouldn't shut, washer wouldn't run - no fun
I googled the problem, read the recommendation found the part and read that it was an easy fix. Took the broken part off the door and noticed the broke off piece was in the latch on the machine. Ordered the two parts, paid the $30 2-day delivery. Parts arrived and the machine was up and runnning in under 5 minutes
Remove two screws on attachment plate slide door lock plate out. Disconnect wire harness. Remove two screws on back side. Then reverse the process, done!
P.S. don't pay $32 for next working day it still took 3 days to arrive. doesn't help when your leaving in two.

Door latch broke off in lock mechanism. I ordered latch from you then realized that broken piece was in lock mechanism. I’m trying to take it apart to get broken piece out but having trouble. I’ll order whole mechanism but would like to see if I can get it open and pull out broken piece. Almost apart but seems to be sticking in top right corner. What do you think? Hello Michael, thank you for getting in touch. The door lock is fairly easy to remove. Once you open the door, you will see a mounting bracket on the right side with two screws on it. Remove the screws, and you will now be able to remove the mounting bracket along with the lock assembly, remove the wire harness from it. The lock assembly is screwed into the mounting bracket, unscrew it, to replace it with the new lock assembly. We hope this helps.
