This inlet valve is designed for use in compatible top-load washing machines and plays a key role in regulating water flow during the wash cycle. Controlled by electrical signals, the valve opens and closes to allow water into the tub as needed. A malfunctioning inlet valve may prevent the washer from starting, trigger error codes, or cause water to leak into the tub, indicating the need for immediate replacement. This component features two individual valves, each equipped with its own wire terminal for proper electrical connection. Installation requires partial disassembly of the washer and basic tools such as needle-nose pliers, a socket wrench, and a screwdriver. The valve is supplied as a standalone part and does not include additional accessories.

Water was dripping into the detergent tray when the unit was off.
Removed the control panel back plate cover. Removed the 3 screws that held the water control valve in place. I then unplugged each solenoid one at a time and plugged it into the new control valve. Once all wires were transferred, I pulled the old valve up and put the new valve on. Then reinstalled the screws that held it down and reinstalled the cover plate. Very simple job !

Water flowed into the washer all the time, even if unplugged
I removed the back panel at he top of the washer, then remover the two screws that hold the top control panel in place. Then I removed the three screws that held the water valve in place. I removed the valve from the water ports and then disconnected the four electrical connectors. I plugged in the new valve and plugged the valve back into the water ports. Reinstalled the screws, control panel and the back panel. Very easy repair, anyone could do it!

Post spin, water was leaking into washer basket from upper rear of cabinet
Unplug washer; turn off hot/cold water valves at wall. Access rear of washer; remove 2 long screws anchoring control panel; remove 3 short screws along top of control panel; remove panel; rotate panel forward to rest on washer top (disconnect orange pressure attached to green computer panel. Blue water valve assembly is obvious! Remove hot & cold inlet hoses from washer (have bucket handy to catch water in hoses). Take picture of old water valve so you can reinstall electrical clips in exact same sequence! Remove 3 short screws that anchor water valve; lift out water valve; disconnect clips; gently life out old water valve. Install new water valve in reverse order.
Use needle-nose pliers as a lever to remove tight electrical clips (they are not designed to come loose easily). Google online videos. Really easy, when you watch a couple videos!

I have water leaking from detergent tray area into washer tub when the unit is off. I turned off the water supply to washer and that stopped the leaking. Water drains fine but when water supply is turned on, water continues to leak from detergent tray area. I believe I need to replace the water valve assembly but not too sure before I buy to replace. Never worked on a washer before please let me know If I’m correct?

Hello Albert, Thank you for the question. We would agree the Port on the Valve for the Dispenser is "stuck" open and allowing water through even when the appliance is not in use. This would require the Valve to be replaced. If you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!

No hot water wash only cold when hot is on i get nothing cold wash fine is it my inlet valve thank you for your time
For model number gtw680bsj6ws
Hi Russ, thank you for your question. Usually when you are having water issues like this the part to check would be your water inlet valve. You can test the valve with a multi meter to be sure. The solenoids should be reading anywhere between 500 - 1500 ohms to be in working order. Good luck with your repair.

I have a h20 supply error message as the machine fills about 1/2 way. It continues to read sensing when filling and then it drains and the h20 supply message comes on as the machine drains out but does not agitate the clothes. I have replaced the lid lock mechanism, the supply lines as well as the quad valve assembly. I am at a loss what the problem could be?
For model number GTW680BSJ4WS
Hi Tim, thank you for question. The H2O supply error would mean that you are having an issue with the supply of water into your appliance. Generally this issue is caused by either the water inlet valve: PS12171559. Good luck with your repair.

The tank fills up, but the sensor in the computer part isn’t recognizing the water in the tub. Once the tub is full the computer says h2o supply. I’m assuming that means it thinks there’s no water in the tub. It fills and drains. I am looking to buy this machine (used but broken) for our grandson. How old is this model?
For model number GTW750CSL0WS
Hi Susan, thank you for your question. Usually when you are having water level issues then you may want to take a look at your water level pressure switch. Which in your case is part of your wiring harness. I have listed that part down below for you. Good luck with your repair.

My GE washing machine is leaking from the upper back. Water doesn’t go into the machine it is just leaking. Is it the valve that i need to change?
For model number GTW580BMROWS
Hi Deenyna,
Thank you for your question. If water is leaking from from the upper back of the washer, check and make sure that the inlet hoses are tightly secured and that they are not cracked or damaged. Check the water inlet valve for cracks or other damage that may cause water to leak from it. If these parts show any signs of damage, they will need to be replaced. We hope this helps!
