Dishes not getting washed but water draining and filling working
Remove dishwasher from under kitchen counter. Lay down washer on it's back using some towels or other soft material to protect floor. Disconnect plug from pump motor and to get to the hose clamp easily I had to remove diverter motor. Be careful and slide diverter motor out slowly as it needs to engage the disc when putting back together. This took most of the time since I had to orient the disc slot with the diverter motor shaft that has mating tongue that goes into slot. Install pump motor but use liquid dish soap as lubricant to get hose elbow and pump inlet to slide in mating parts. Be sure to lubricate with same on tang that fits into rubber slot. Tighten elbow hose clamp with proper pliers for job. Re-install diverter motor assembly. Inspect for any oops's and install washer back under counter. Hook back up to drain, water and electric power.

The Whirlpool troubleshooting chart lists resistance ranges for everything except the pump motor. Is it possible to test the pump motor (wpw10510667) without the power on?
For model number WDT910SAYE2

Hi Steve, Thank you for your question. Here is some information from our website that may help you, "Disconnect the power source to your dishwasher before you conduct this or any other test. Either unplug the unit from the wall outlet, remove the appropriate fuse from the fuse box, or flip the appropriate breaker in the circuit breaker panel. Locate your dishwasher's motor. It will be found behind the lower kickplate/access panel. This panel will be held in place with either two or four screws. Remove the screws you find in order to remove the panel. It may be necessary for you to open the dishwasher door to remove the screws, but then close the door again to remove the panel. Disconnect the motor's two wire leads from the wiring harness. Set your multimeter to the R x 1 setting. Touch each of the meter's probes to one terminal each. Your motor should show little resistance (a reading of zero, or close to zero). Now check the ground connection. Place one probe on the bare metal housing of the motor. Place the other probe on each terminal, one at a time. You should not receive any reading on your meter from this test. If your dishwasher's motor fails either of these tests, you will have to replace it." I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Drains fine but no longer cleans, sounds like a motorcycle when its running, noise seems to be coming from the pump
For model number WDT910SAYM2

Hello Rob, thank you for your question. I would recommend removing the filter at the bottom of the tub and cleaning it out well as well as the spray arms. If the spray arms are clogged with debris the water will not be able to spray on the dishes enough to get them clean. If the filter and spray arms are clean and the noise is coming from the pump the pump itself should be replaced. I hope this helps!

The water doesn’t drain. It cycles through but bottom pan is full of water at the end of the cycle.
For model number WDT790SAYW2
PartSelect logo
Hello Bob, thank you for writing. This is most likely due to a faulty Drain Pump, part number PS11753379 for your model dishwasher. You may also want to consider the Drain Hose, part number PS2358130. Check both for clogs and damage before replacing them. You can test the Drain Pump for continuity with a multi-meter. You should get a reading of zero or nearly zero for it to be functioning properly. Good luck with your repair!

My dishwasher starts but after 10 seconds it stops. Both the Start and Washing lights are blinking. If I hit Cancel and wait for it to complete the cancel cycle and don't open the door, hit Start, many times it will run through just fine (the dish come out clean and dry. Sometime I have to hit the Start and hit the Cancel buttons twice before it does the complete cleaning cycle. Last week I replaced the Turbidity sensor but the dishwasher acts the same. Please help. What do I need to do next? Thanks Jim
For model number WDF750SAYB0

Hello Jim, Thank you for writing. This can indicate the cycle was interrupted. This can happen when the door is opened during the cycle or power has been interrupted. Push the door firmly closed within 3 seconds of pressing Start/Resume. Check the Door Latch and handle for any wear or damage preventing the door from closing and staying closed properly. We hope this is helpful!

Strange noise - sounds like "hail hitting glass" when water is being drawn from hot water supply. Stops as soon as the water draw stops. Is this the motor pump? Cleaning is ok. Cycles ok. No leaks. Just a "grating" sound with positive water.
For model number WDT790SLYM0

Hi Jim, Thank you for your question. You may need to check your water inlet valve or replace it. It sounds like there may be something jangling around. Once you remove your inlet hose you may see something there. If you do not and there is still rattling inside the part you will have to replace your valve. Good luck with your repair.
