worked as expected
Loved the video but have a suggestion to add, Technician could also mention besides unplugging refrigerators if you find the electrical panel it's ok to close that as well (If I am correct), also to make sure the control board light indicators (and buttons) line up with the window on the unit, only because I first installed them facing backwards.

Fixed the problem of no defrosting
Our fridge was not cooling because the line was apparently frozen due to the freezer not defrosting. A new control board was recommended to fix the auto defrost issue. We replaced this and it now works like a charm, with no frost buildup in the freezer. Video made installation easy. The hardest part was snapping the control board in two!

Easy repair, fixed my issue
Fridge was not forcing defrost consistently and would require a manual defrost quite regularly. All google searches indicated bad jazz board. Ordered part, shipped very quickly and it rectified the issue. Video instructions were accurate and easy to follow.

Ikea Fridge ECB Replacement
Lots of good information on the web site with an excellent video. Ordered the ECB and it came quickly and was well packaged. Had to defrost the freezer as condenser was covered in frost. Once that was done, got the old part out and the new one in and programmed. Been working great since. Thanks!

Freezer is cold, Refridgerator is not as cold as it should be
Having seen this problem before in other equipment so I had an idea where to look. Problem: the automatic defrost function was not operating. Looking through openings in the back panel of the freezer compartment, you could see the evaporator coils and fins were a solid chuck of ice. There are three logical components to check. Heater element, thermostat (located just above the evaporator) and a relay on the control board (located in the fridge control panel). Checked the heater with an ohm meter -- OK. The thermostat closes the circuit at around 20 degrees and opens at around 32 degrees. Pulled out the thermostat, wiring, fan unit. Everything unplugs, unscrews, and unclips, don't cut wires. Put the whole assembly in a friends freezer for an hour or so to see if the thermostat closes -- OK. Problem had to be with the control board. Replaced control board, reprogrammed it per included instruction. Everything is working again.

defroster mode was not working causing freezer to ice up and refrigerator to be warm. Also fan was running continuely
The hard part for me was figuring out which part was causing the problem. I read what others had done and followed their test methods. I checked the defroster heater for continuity and the defroster thermostat to make sure it was closing. the defroster termostat has to be cold to check it. You will need to check it while it is in ice or take it out and put it in another freezer for 30 mins and then check it for continuity. Those items checked out ok so it had to be the control board. The control board is a 5 min job to replace but making sure that is your problem is the hard part. I think the control board was bad due to a power surge we had when the power went out and came back on. It might be a good idea to put a surge protector on your home to protect your fridge and all your other electronic stuff. Our refrigerator is now working like new again. Thank you for all your help, Jim

Top unit was not getting cold
First thing to do is take two screws off where the door closes.I removed the light sheild off by pushing it to back of refrig. The most hardest part is removing the complete panel,I took a small flat blade scraper to ply down to get small access than you need to put alot of pressure to start getting the panel to start coming off there are alot of pegs to free, the back panel has two hinges that slide towards the front.Once the panel drops remove the connectors and take entire unit out, very easy to replace the control board at this point.Installation is easy slide the two hinges on back in place and put pressure on unit to snap entire unit in place.Program unit with paperwork that came with part very easy to do.Frig is working great now.Just a note the paperwork on refrig is located in the front right corner the mf hids it ,this information will allow you to check all problems with refrig using the key pads for freezer/refrig.Good luck.

Refrigerator not defrosting properly. Evaporator froze on three different occasions.
I watched the video provided on-line in your website, which was excellent. The information provided gave me everything I needed to change the board. I already had experience handling control boards and was aware of the static precautions; however, your paperwork was very good detailing how to program the new board. The only small problem I had was reinstalling the temp sensor in its bracket. The lead was very short. Other than that, all went well! The project took between 20 and 30 minutes.

There was ice building up in the freezer.
I searched the internet for the correct part and reviewed the instructions on the internet. Upon ordering the correct part I was provided a link to a video that walked me through step by step. The very first thing I did was unplug the refrigerator.I then located the control board located in the housing in the ceiling of the refrigerator. Using a screwdriver I was able to carefully separate the housing from the refrigerator ceiling . Unplugged the housing and then had to separate the plastic housing to locate the control board. Ran into a little difficulty at first separating the plastic tabs but with a screwdriver carefully pried the tabs. Once completely open is where the control board was. More plastic tabs holding the control board in place. Carefully separated the board from the tabs. The were two plugs that needed to be separated from the board. Used a screwdriver to get the plugs separated. The new board you had to bend carefully at a joint so the board became two pieces. Snapped the boards in place. Plugged the board in two spots. Put the housing together and put the housing in place in the refrigerator. Plugged the refrigerator in. All lights came on and then had to program the board. The instructions were spit on. The code is located inside the fridge were the model tag is. Programmed correctly. Word of advice read the directions a few times you can't go wrong. So far it's day 7 after I installed the board and no ice building up. According to the internet the control board controls the defrost function on my model. Very happy. I'm still watching the freezer but I'm pretty sure I fixed my matter. Thanks for sending the right part and the video. Repair went well. Just take your time and go easy because everything involved is plastic. I didn't want to break any tabs I had to deal with.

refrigerator running all the time
Followed the video and installed the new Jazz board. The board cam in 1 piece which had to be separated into two pieces, but the scored area on the board made it less intimidating. At the same time I replaced the two incandescent lamps in the refrigerator area with LED lamps. Getting the housing for the control board apart was the most difficult part, installing the replacement board was a breeze.

For model number KBRS19KTWH01

Water leaking under right bottom small pool of water about every two daye
For model number MBF1958XEB1
Hi Pauline, Thank you for your question. If the leaking is coming from underneath your refrigerator I would suggest first checking the drain pan for cracks or if it is over filling. If it is over filling then you may need to take a look at the defrost thermostat and heater in your appliance. You may also want to look at your water lines and your water inlet valve and make sure that they are not the parts causing your leaking. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

My Whirlpool problem ..freezer working fine but refrigerator stays warm..can you help me with this problem...i cleaned all the coils and back. fans working in the freezer and fan by the compressor is working.
For model number GB2FHDXWS06
Hello Richard, thank you for your question. We would recommend checking the damper, Damper Control Assembly Part Number: PS11750106, to be sure its opening enough to allow the air into the fridge from the freezer. If the damper and damper motor and opening and closing properly, the issue is probably the electronic board, PartSelect Number PS11755733, which would have to be replaced. I hope this helps!
