When i try and shut the door it will not shut and latch

Hi Robert, Thank you for your question. If the door will not shut and latch, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which ones are are causing the issue. You will need to check the door balance link kit, the door latch and switch assembly, the dispenser, the mounting brackets, the door springs, the rack track stop, the door strike, the hinges, and the gasket. Does the "door latch & switch assembly" (part # ps11754317) come with the "door switch" (part # ps11748819) or do i have to order the "door switch" in conjunction with the "door latch & switch assembly"?

I believe the door latch is broke. Does it mean the power wouldn't turn on? Replacing the door latch would fix the problem? Thanks.

Hi Sam, Thank you for your question. Yes, if your door latch is broken, then your appliance will believe that the door is open and no power will go to your control board to activate it. My dishwasher will not start up after the selections on the keyboard are made. The keyboard lights up but it will not run through the cycles.

Hi Chris, Thank you for the question. I suggest to first check the latch, see if it feels loose or like it may not be latching properly. You can also test the switches on the latch with a multi meter for continuity. If the latch is good, you may need to replace the Electronic Control Board,Part Number: PS11752011. Hope this helps!

Does the door latch assembly come with the door handle?

Hello William, thank you for writing. The Handle, part PS11750311 in black, part PS11750312 in white, and part PS11731453 in biscuit, are not included with the Door Latch and Switch Assembly part PS11754317 for your model.

I changed the latch door kit but the door still will not lock or close.
For model number kenmore dishwasher
Hi Rick, Thank you for your question. If the dishwasher is still not closing, make sure the lock is not out of alignment, reposition it and try to shut the door. If it is aligned correctly, depending on your model number, you will need to check the door hinges, the door strike, the door gasket and the door springs. I hope this helps. What are some symptoms of a failing door latch switch? Previously, it would not start and now it shut off "mid cycle". It did restart to drain the water.

Lock latch would not function properly
Removed front instrument cover. Removed latch assembly. Tried to fix it . No luck. Ordered new latch assembly. Came in from partsselect in 3 days. Installed new latch. Replaced cover.
