I would like to know what the ohms value for the thermistor, that is located on the inside, to see if it needs to be replaced. The part no. Is wpw10384183.Thank you, john

Hi John, thank you for your question. There should actually be a tech sheet with what the thermistor is supposed to be reading behind the bottom kickplate grill of your appliance on the left hand side. However, if you do not have that there, usually at room temperature you should be reading around 11000 ohms. In a cup of ice water you should be reading 27000 ohms. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

My fridge and freezer are to warm. I replaced the capacitor and start relay and the evaporator fan seem to be running fine. My question is, is there any other part the could be the problem?

The lower refrigerator section is freezing the contents, just like the top section. Would that be caused by part# 13, temp sensor for the lower section?

Our refrigerator is freezing everything. We ordered the thermistor (part w11438736) and replaced it, but it's still doing it. What would be the recommendation to try next?

Hello Sharon, Thank you for the question. When the coils on your fridge are dirty or dusty, then the compressor needs to work harder and longer to keep the freezer temperature at freezing temperature and can cause the Fresh Food Section temperature to be lower and freeze food. We hope this helps!

Hi Cindy, Thank you for your question. If your refrigerator is too cold, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the temperature sensor, the capacitor and the main control board. We hope this helps! Good luck with the repair!

Whirlpool upright freezer is not freezing and coils are frozen up. What would cause this?
For model number WZF34X20DW01

Hello Clint, Thank you for the question. This normally indicates there is a issue with the Defrost. We suggest testing the Defrost Heater. You can also make sure the Fan Motors are running and circulating the air properly. We hope this helps!

The freezer is not defrosting so the food is getting warm in the refrigerator because the ice build up in the freezer blocks the air flow. There are two thermistors. One in the freezer and one in the control panel in the frig. How do I test each one to be sure that their working? The paper that has all the diagrams under the fridge doesn't show temps for either thermistor. I could really use your help on this one.

It works for a few days then stops cooling and un plug it for 3 days then it starts cooling again.
For model number art318ffdb

Hello Robert, thank you for writing. Clogged coils can cause intermitting cooling. Check to ensure nothing is stuck in the condenser fan and that it spins freely (models with coils on the back won't have a fan). To do this, unplug the fridge and pull it out. Clean the fan blades and spin the fan by hand to see if it's stuck. Also, it can be due to either a faulty Temperature Sensor or circuit board. The Electronic Control is part PS11756925 and the Temperature Sensor is part PS11753994. If you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you.
