My Whirlpool gold series model wfe710h0as electric range control panel zeros out and shuts the oven off whenever i attempt to turn it on. The range top is unaffected and works fine. Does this sound like it needs a new control panel?

Is this the stainless steel color? Do you have any better pictures? Also is it common for the plastic face of this piece to melt? Because that's what happened to mine...

Hello Cynthia, thank you for your question. This part, Control Panel - Stainless WPW10318550, is the stainless steel colored trim pieces that goes around the control panel and touch pad on the appliance. The plastic face of the unit would be the membrane switch that has the control buttons on it. Sometimes the design of the unit has the control buttons too close to the heat. Unfortunately, this does happen sometimes, but can be fixed by purchasing a new switch membrane. I hope this helps!

Certain buttons on the control panel are not working such as 3,6, 9, and the “bake” button for both the upper & lower oven. Gas range top works fine. Can you help determine which part needs replaced? Thanks!

Thank you for your question. If some of the buttons on the control panel are not working, try unplugging the oven for a few minutes to see if this fixes the issue. If it doesn't, check the connections to see if they are fitted correctly. If the connections are fine and buttons are not working, you will need to replace the touchpad and control panel. Hello Charles, thank you for your question. If the control panel is blank and no lights are showing or error codes, the issue is probably the board itself. If the control panel has lights, but you can't get the ovens to light, check the oven sensor, igniters and gas valve to be sure they're functioning properly. I hope this helps!
