Dryer Door Handle
The part arrived quickly and as ordered. I appreciated the professional service received when obtaining this item. It took a few looks at it to figure out how to get the broken handle out and the new handle in, but once I did, the replacement was quick and easy.

Exactly the part I needed
The part was delivered quickly and was exactly what I needed. I was worried it wasn't the right part or something would be missing. But all the screws were there and the installation was simple.

The door handle wore out and broke.
Removed a few screws around the sides of the door Inserted the replacement handle and tightened two screws (I had to go to the hardware store to buy 2 nylon spacers to replace the original ones that had disintegrated.)

Replace broken dryer door handle
1. Remove door from dryer by unscrewing the hinge screws at the dryer body. 2. Unscrew the hinges from the door. 3. Unscrew all screws (I believe there are 7) along the 4 edges of the door. 4. Separate the front and back halves of the door. It's a tight fit, so I went through the broken handle and pushed against the back panel. It separated easily. 5. Between the door panels, find the screws and plastic screw guides that fell into the door that hold the handle to the door front panel. Unscrew them from any broken plastic formerly from the hand. 6. Remove the broken door handle and insert the new door handle. There is a ridge on the door handle that allows the sheet metal panel to fit into it as you mount it. If properly positioned the door handle will sit properly. 7. Use the screws and plastic screw guides from the old door handle to secure the new door handle to the inside of the front door panel. 8. Reassemble the door panel halves with the 7 screws you removed earlier, making sure you have the closure tab at the top and the hinge mounts on the side away from the handle. 9. Attach the hinges to the door on the side away from the handle. Make sure the hinge pins are on the outside edge, visible when the door is closed. 10. Attach the hinges (already on the door) to the front face of the dryer. (It would be easier if someone holds the door in place for you.) 11. Close the door and check for proper fit. 12. Finished. Put your screwdriver away.

My Maytag Bravos dryer handle on the outside of the door is broken. I found the correct piece, part number PS11751977. I just am not sure if I need any screws, nuts or bolts to go with the new handle?
For model number MEDX500XW0
Hi Sherry,
Thank you for your question. Before you begin any repair please unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet or turn the circuit breaker off. With the power cut off from the dryer, you will then need to unthread the screws securing the door hinges. Once the door has been removed from the dryer, remove the remaining screws from the door. With the screws removed, you can now separate the 2 door panels. With the panels removed, you can now remove the handle. Use a flathead screwdriver to release the locking tab securing the handle to the panel. To install the new handle, slide the new handle into place and use your flathead screwdriver to lock the handle in place. Put the 2 door panels back together and secure the two panels with the screws. Then reattach the door to the dryer. With door back on the dryer, plug it back in and it should now work for you. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
