This part saved me thousands of dollars
First I would like to thank you for your great service videos. They helped m with installing this part. It is also very useful that you can indicate what your problem is and then receive a suggestion from you what the problem might be. After I called the dealer where I bought my fridge from, the charged me in advance for the service call and in the end told me that the compressor was gone and I needed to buy a new fridge.I found your website and did my own research and ordered a capacitor and when that did not solved the problem order this part. After installation the fridge worked again and thanks to your advice the fridge did not end up in the dump and we saved thousands of dollars.

Superior service in all ways
We live in small town rural Saskatchewan off the beaten trail. We ordered the required part online on a Monday afternoon about 1pm. Much to our delight and joy the part arrived the next day via Puralator at about 1:30pm. Never in a lifetime did we expect to get the required part in about 26 hours. Great service with great instructions for installation of part. Fridge now up and running. Thank you

Easy swap.
Works as advertised, wasnt sure if it was the capacitor that went or the relay, both looked fine when removed. New relay went in without issue.

Easy replacement
The part replaces my old one and works great. I just don't know why I am still hearing rattle sound when shaking. I thought it should not have the noise when shaking. But it works!

Can't Comment as yet
Changing the capacitor and compressor start relay has not resolved the problem. Seems like the control board is the likely culprit.

Refrigerator & Freezer both stopped cooling
Simply move the appliance for access to the back side. Removed the lower metal access panel, locate the compressor ( black round object ) parts are on the left bottom of the compressor. Simply unplug the parts, and replace with new parts. The hard part was, getting my 72 year old body in position to do the job. As far as getting the right part, a young lady in Nova Scoita is the one to ask for help !! Ordered parts one day, and they were in my hands the next morning!!

Clicking noise, getting louder. Then stopped cooling
1. Empty your fridge. Lighter is easier to move and this is the hardest step in the fix. 2. Move your fridge so you can get behind it. Unplug the fridge. 3. Use a 1/4in nut driver to remove the screws from the back panel. 4. Remove the back panel. 5. Locate the compressor (big cylinder, usually black) and find the capacitor (PS11757023) and start dev (PS11750123) plugged into the side of the compressor. 6. There is a steel spring restraint wire, remove this. 7. Remove the pin connector (plastic w/ wires going to it) by pressing and pulling gently. Remove the old capacitor and start dev. 8. Assemble the new capacitor and start dev to each other. 9. Plug the pin connector into the new replacement components. 10. Align the start dev to the location of the old components. There is a 3 pin outlet that aligns to the 3 plug holes on the start dev. Align the plug then push gently but firmly to seat the components back together. 11. Reinstall the restraint wire. 12. Reinstall the pack panel. 13. Put your refrigerator back in place and load it up! You're all done!

Stopped cooling/freezing
It is as easy as is shown in the self-help video. (1) Disconnect the power, (2) Roll the appliance out so you can get to the back, (3) Using a nut driver remove all the screws from the lower back panel then remove the panel, (4) Remove the tensioner wire, (5) unplug the electrical connection to the capacitor, (6) gently but firmly remove the capacitor and starter relay as one unit, (7) preassemble your new capacitor and starter relay as one unit, (8) now simply reverse your steps for installing and you are done! These two parts saved me the cost of a new refrigerator. Almost as easy as changing a light bulb. PS: while you have the panel removed you can do a thorough cleaning with a soft brush and vacuum.

As shown on the YouTube link sent with email receipt.
Removed back panel. Removed the clip securing the parts with long nose pliers. Unplugged the old, replugged the new. Replaced the clip to secure.
Unfortunately, the capacitor and relay did not fix the loud clicking issue.

intermittent clicking noise; otherwise fridge seemed to be working fine
Googled "intermittent clicking noise" or something similar and consensus was it was either the capacitor or compressor start relay. You-tubed videos on how to replace these. Looked easy. Just unplug them from the condenser and replace. Contacted Part Select and staff said 50% of the the time it was the capacitor, 50% of the time it was the relay. I was in a time crunch so I ordered both and they came in a couple of days. I replaced the capacitor but the clicking noise continued. I replaced the relay and problem solved! Maybe I could have gotten away with just replacing the relay, but I had them both by then and figured with a 10 year old fridge, better replace them both at the same time and be done with the problem. So far, so good.

Refrigerator freezer stopped cooling
Prior to ordering I removed freezer panel and checked for ice build up and fan functionality. Then removed rear panel cleaned lint from everything pulled front panel vacuumed out the condenser. Plugged back in and all seems to work with the exception of compressor. I have a little experience so googled in model number and your site popped up. I looked up part and the site gave me a percentage loved that. I ordered wish I would have rushed shipping as took about 10 days. Installed in less than 30 minutes and all runs great ??

I hear the compressor kick on and 30 seconds or less it kicks right back off, would this normally be cause by the relay switch I am inquiring about: Part# wpw10197428. I replaced the compacitor on my Maytag refridgerator but that didn't fix the click on and then click again and it's still not cooling. Do i need to replace the start dev part ?? i truly need my fridge!!
For model number mfi2269vew1
Hello Dorothy, Thank you for the question. If your refrigerator has stopped cooling entirely and you hear a clicking sound every two to five minutes, then your compressor is not turning on and you may need to replace the Start Device. Thank you for your inquiry, good luck with this repair!

My Whirlpool fridge & freezer are to warm. I recently have replaced starter device and thermostat but still to warm. Today I had the relay replaced won't know if this will fix my problem. Can you help me with my problem?
For model number W8TXEWFYQ01
Hi Frances, Thank you for the question. I suggest testing the Bi-Metal Defrost Thermostat. The best way to do this is to remove the Thermostat from the refrigerator so you can control the temperature of the sensor. You can let the sensor warm up to room temperature. With the sensor warmed up to room temperature the sensor should read approximately 6.2K Ohms at 68°F. With the thermistor submerged is a glass full of ice water, the sensor should be very close to 32°F which should read approximately 16.3K Ohms. If the values that you are getting are far off from these readings, then the sensor is bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps

Where is the adaptive defrost control located on this refrigerator model? Thanks
For model number MFT2574DEM01
Hello James, Thank you for the question. Checking this model number I am not showing this appliance has a adaptive defrost control. The Defrost would be controlled by the main control board. Hope this helps, good luck with this repair!

My refrigerator's problem is sometime is not running. In order for it to run, i have to turn the thermostat off then turn it back on. How can i address the problem?
For model number 10650023211
Hello Alan, thank you for your question. We would recommend testing the start device, and capacitor which are on the compressor. You're testing for continuity so if they show continuity when tested they have not failed. The next step would be to test/replace the thermostat. The cold control is a temperature controlled switch that supplies power to the compressor and fan circuits in the refrigerator. If your refrigerator won’t start and no fans are running, then you may have a defective control. The temperature adjustment knob is attached to the control and is normally located in the fresh food section control panel. You can check the control for continuity with a multi-meter. You will need to remove power from the appliance first, remove the control from the housing and disconnect the terminal leads. As you adjust the control to a colder setting the switch should close and you should have continuity between the terminals. If not, then the control is defective and will need to be replaced. I hope this helps!

My Maytag fridge quit working fridge and freezer but i can hear this i think little black box click on for a second and then go off. Can you tell me what part i need to fix this??
For model number MFI2269VEW0
Hi Dorothy,
Thank you for your question. The little black box you are referring to maybe the capacitor, part number PS11757023. The capacitor is also known as a run capacitor, and it is most often used in refrigerators and freezers. This part provides the voltage or energy current required to start the compressor and keep it running. It allows the compressor in your appliance to easily cycle on and off. Doing so enables the appliance to effortlessly maintain its internal temperature. If the capacitor is faulty your refrigerator or freezer might be too warm, or you may notice the compressor will hum, but it will not run. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

The refrigerator works most of the time. However, there are times it does not kick on and the ice starts to melt and temperature in the refrigerator goes up. We then turn the control knobs off and on and the unit begins to cool again.
For model number WRS325FDAM02
Hi Michael,
Thank you for your inquiry. There are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the bi-metal defrost thermostat, the lower door closing cam, the evaporator fan motor, the fan blade, the defrost control board, the fresh food door gasket and the defrost heater. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
