I am replacing the old gasket with a new one. The old gasket is fitted between two other door parts making it difficult to pull part loose without removing several screws in the door. Are there instructions on how to replace an old original oven door gasket that came without tension clips? How difficult is this diy project?
For model number Roper model 2390L00
Hi Stacey, Thank you for your question. This is generally a very easy DIY project. We do have an installation video underneath this part that may help you. Here is the link: https://youtu.be/dog7d1nWgaQ . Good luck with your repair.

See my response to your question below.I did as you suggested; checked the following part ps1570174 with a multimeter and it was good. i also replaced part number ps11745985, electronic oven control and the oven still does not turn on. the left hand side of the touchpad; buttons labeled; bake, broil, favorites on/off do not beep. the setup on/off beeps but you can set the time. the remaining all seem to all work i.e. fan, timer 1&2 work all the number buttons work. can you offer me some thoughts as to what parts i need to order? answer: hi frank, thank you for your question. before we can assist you further, is your stove displaying any error messages? was there a power failure prior to the oven not working properly? thank you and have a great day! response: no there are no error messages displayed and yes from time to time we do have power outages. i do have a whole house surge protection system.
For model number JES9860CAS02
Hello Frank, Thank you for your follow up. At this point in time if you have not replaced the touch pad itself then you I suggests doing that. The sensors on the touch pad could be worn out so it cannot communicate with the board.

I have a 24" stove in a mobile home. I cannot find the right sized gasket for my door. After watching the installation video I am convinced I could buy a standard sized door gasket then cut off the excess to make it the correct size, since all that is done in the end is put the frayed edge into the hole. Am I oversimplifying it, or would that work? Please help!
For model number 790.910
Hello Jil, thank you for inquiring. The correct replacement Oven Door Seal for your model is part PS440011.

I am looking for two oven door gaskets for these Amana wall ovens. Amana no longer makes replacements and i cannot seem to find any gasket supplier who can help me as when i ask for product specifics they tell me they are not available. Where can i find a gasket that is 3/16 diameter, 80 inches (min) in length? I am just looking for something close and will accommodate to fit. Thank you so much product looks like your ps11749287, same style and material.
For model number aocs304033
Hi Mohsin, thank you for your question. Unfortunately we would not be able to suggest parts that may work. The manufacturer tends not to give us a lot of part specifications. We do have a wizard on our site where you can narrow down parts based on model, brand, and part you are looking for. I would suggest taking a look at that and seeing if anything may match what you have there already. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

How does the door seal stop the control panel from working
For model number JES9900BCS21
Hi E, thank you for your question. It would not stop the control panel from working. The door seal is just a seal that goes around your door and helps stop heat from escaping your oven. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Needed to replace oven door gasket.
First removed the old gasket using a needle-nose pliers. Then placed new gasket by inserting the little clips on the gasket. Took 5 minutes. Great instructions from Repair Forum.

My wife destroyed the oven door seal with oven cleaner...
I ordered the part one afternoon. It arrived before noon the next day. Then I simply removed the old seal (with about 2 dozen spring clips). Inserted the new part by carefully inserting the new seal into its corresponding hole at each end and then worked my way around the seal while inserting each attached spring clip into its corresponding hole.

oven would not come up to temp. that was set
Replacing the sensor kit and door gasket was no problem at all, however the baking element was A different story.
The problem was not the fault of the replacement part, but
the removal of the element to be replaced. The phillips head screws stripped out very easy and getting them out without damage to the interior finish of the oven was time consuming and challenging, but patients, and perservrance
win and so did I. Oven now works great

Inner Galls on door was craked
Remove outer panel first, outer glass and handle come off as one piece. Be carefull to secure as last screws are removed. Remove inner silver panel. Remove broken glass and replace with new. Reaassemble. Around 10 Phillips head screws altogether. Much easier than I thought

Oven would stop heating after a few minutes of operation
Heat escaping from the top of the over door would overheat the electronics and cause the system to show error codes F1 and F3-1. Error code F3-1 suggests that the oven temperature sensor was bad. I replaced the sensor but that did not stop the problem. Replacing the oven door gasket stop the heat leak and solved the problem. I simply pull the old gasket off the door (it stuck a bit at the bottom but a pair of pliers solved that problem, then push the new gasket into place without any tools. The old gasket was very hard and non-complient where food had spilled on it and baked hard.

Door gasket was hard and brittle from baked-on grease - heat leaking around door
Waited for my husband to do it, but when he didn't, I tried it. Very simple! Just pulled the old gasket out of the pinch pin holes in the door, then replaced it. Tuck the one end into the hole at the bottom of the door, then match up the little pinch pins on the gasket with the holes in the door - matches up perfectly! Be sure to tuck in each of pinch pins till they sort of "snap" into each hole. Took me 5 minutes, tops. Works great now, no more lost heat around the edge of the door.

Needed to replace the oven door gasket/seal
Removed door from oven by pulling up at the first stop point after opening the door. Removed the outer shell by removing 5 screws. Disassembled the inner door by removing 6 screws. Be careful with the insulation blanket (fits in a molded portion of the inner door). Glass windows can be removed (for cleaning) via a couple screws. Old gasket/seal is held in-place via spring-clips; just squeezed each clip, pushed each thru their respective holes, and pulled off the worn-out gasket. New gasket snapped in-place by pushing the clips thru the respective holes. Reverse the process to reassemble the door. You can do this job in 15-20 minutes. Took us longer because it took some elbow-grease (and patience) to clean the crud off the glass windows.

Filter was coming apart, door gasket was dirty and fraying
Opened the range grid, popped in the new filter, seconds after that I pulled out the old door gasket, put in the new with its little poppers and that's it. Both jobs took me less that 3,minutes. Great.Easy install for both products.

Oven door hinges broken
With the back removed, replacing the lamp receptacle is straight-forward. Likewise, the door gasket is very easy. However, in order to replace the hinges, you have to remove the burner glass top (screws underneath the front lip), and inner and outer side panels. Also the supplied hinges mounting holes were not threaded so I had to use my own bolts, lock-washers and nuts in order to attach them. Total time, including a bit of cleaning, was 5 hours.

door seal contaminated by a boil-over, not flexible
From reading other reviews i thought I would have to dis-assemble the door but when I saw the new part I realized I would not have to, simply pop the beveled clips w/pocket knife and pop in the new seal clips. the ends tucked very nicely, an 80+ yr. old would have no trouble if they had their wits.
