Sorry, we couldn't find any existing installation instruction that matched.
Ice maker would not turn allowing the ice to come out the dispenser. The ice bucket was also cracked from kids (ok and parents) getting frustrated and shaking the ice bucket!
Piece of cake!

Removed the old ice bucket which was cracked and ice would not dispense. The Helix Cap also looked worn which is why I ordered both parts. (Probably if not for the shaking of the ice bucket the Helix cap would have been the only part required. We ended up cracking the ice bucket) Removed the four hex screws from the auger system on the old ice bucket with a socket wrench. Removed the old Helix end cap from the auger system and replaced with the new. Literally just slips on the auger. Reinstalled auger system back onto the new ice bucket. Total time not even five minutes.

Working great! Probably saved $ 75.00 - $ 100.00 on a service call. Half of a wrench on skill level needed (One=Low skill level/ Five=High skill level)

Great response & delivery from Parts Select!
Definitely recommend highly.

Helix end cap slipped, jamming auger and breaking bucket
First, I removed the ice bucket and crusher assembly and emptied the ice into a tupperware container.

Next, I removed the face plate by carefully pressing the bottom of the ice bucket and releasing the tabs on the face plate.

Using a 1/4" nutdriver, I removed the two screws near the bottom of the ice crusher and auger assembly which holds it to the ice bucket.

As long as the auger was off, I decided to replace the end cap to see if that would solve the jamming problem. It takes a little finesse to figure out how to twist the cap so it can be removed, but it is fairly easy once you see how it works.

Reassembly is the reverse procedure. When putting the face plate back on, be sure the lip at the top (just below the clear window) laps over the top of the bucket.

ice maker wouldn't work
First I removed the outer shell part then removed the 4 screws holding the ice bin together. After taking the parts out of the old ice bin it was easy to put all the new parts together except the new helix end cap which was a bit tricky to put it in place. It wasn't difficult to reassemble but I would stongly suggest taking notice how everything fits together before taking it apart.

the helix end cap broke and the ice maker wouldn't dispence ice
Well it was very simple. I just pulled out the ice cube bucket , removed a few screws from the front of the bucket, pulled the front panel off, replaced the helix end cap too the auger, put all of it back together into a new ice bucket, screwed the front panel back on , than lined up the auger to line up with motor shaft of the freezer motor and what do you know I HAD ICE. My family was happy and i did this for under thirty dollars. A repairman would of cost more than three times that just to look at problem and would of cost more for the parts and the second trip to fix it. Thanks you for making it easy to find the part and for the quick delivery of the parts.

Broken ice bucket and broken helix end cap.
I pulled off the plastic shield from the front of the ice bucket. This exposed the two screws that I needed to remove to disassemble the ice crusher mechanism. Once the screws were removed, I was able to remove the helix and replace the end cap that was broken and place it in the new ice bucket. If I would have known it was this easy, I would have changed this out a year ago, instead of doing without crushed ice through the door for so long. Thanks PartSelect. com! I am a customer for life!

Ice Bucket cracked in back of unit
First, I removed the bucket and drained all the ice from it. Then I took the ice bucket out and lifted off the cover of it which exposed the teeth that grind up the ice. I then removed these in succession and placed on my table so I could make sure I put back together appropriately. Once I had the bucket with everything off of it, I replaced and threaded the auger back through it so I could attach the end cap to it. Once that was in place, I put the parts back on the way I took them off. It really was a painless process and saved a ton of money versus calling a repair person. Definitely will use the service again. Very prompt delivery as had the parts 2-3 days after ordered. Well done.

Ice maker started to jam
One day when i went to get ice our ice maker started to jam. When i took it out i noticed that the metal arm that turns was out of position and blocked due to the End cap being out of place. I then put it back in place and it happened again. The bucket cracked due to the pressure caused by the ice been . The only problem that i have now is that when i hit cubed ice, crushed ice comes out...and when i hit crushed ice, cubed ice comes out. The installation and swapping of parts wasw really easy. Partselect has great breakdown diagrams so if you get lost u can turn to them.

Ice maker would not dispense ice.
!st I called a repair man because the fridge is under warranty. They came out and this part was not under the warranty. I started looking online and found PartSelect.com. They broke down the icemaker into parts and I could see that I did not need the whole icemaker, just the bucket and a cap. I could not believe how simple the problem was. Took just minutes to fix and now I can get ice from my door again! I got the parts quick and I got what I ordered. I highly recommend PartsSelect.com!

I understand that the helix cap can be replaced, but am uncertain how to fix the underlying problem which is that the freezer's defrost cycle seems to melt ice cubes enough that they form a glob when the cycle is over which then places stress on the auger/helix cap causing separation. Any suggestions?

Hi Dave, Thank you for the great question. There are a few things you can check. First, look the door gaskets over to makes sure they are sealing properly and there are no cracks and gaps. If air is leaking in it can cause the defrost cycle to run to long and you can have the melted ice problem. Also check where the water line runs through to the ice-maker, Make sure it is not showing a gap or needs some caulking to fill the hole to prevent any extra air coming in. If there is frost build up around the hole you may have an air leak. You can also put a flash light in the freezer and pull the fridge out to see if there is light coming through. This may also work to check the seal on the gaskets. It is also a good idea to make sure that the air flow paths through the refrigerator and freezer are not blocked or stuck open and you are getting proper air flow. Hope this helps!

When trying to dispense ice the auger is trying to spin but appears to be stuck or hitting on something. When I look up into the chute when it opens I can see it trying to move. Wondering is something just needs to be adjusted but it seems like the bucket is sitting properly. Also, seems like the ice maker or water fill tube is shooting water. If I open the freezer and push the light in so it appears to be closed - how long does it take for the system to realize it needs to try and fill the tray so I can see where the water is going?
For model number ASD2622HRW

Hi Jason, Thank you for your question. The auger is driven by a motor mounted behind the bin with a set of drive forks on the gear box shaft. The gear box turns very slowly but has lots of power to push the ice. If the auger is not turning you should first verify the motor is operating. The motor/gear box normally makes enough noise that you can hear it with the freezer door closed. Also, once the ice maker has dropped a load ice, it is ready for to make new ice and it should then fill with water. The ice maker may be malfunctioning. You will need to test the parts with a multimeter. Here is a link to one of our videos on YouTube that you may reference on how to use one, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWC44fHn0As. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

The auger keeps separating from the ice maker helix end cap and will not dispense ice. Do I need to replace both or just the cap? How much is it for the entire assembly including the bucket? Thank you
For model number PARSE67RBW1
PartSelect logo
Hi Robin, Thank you for your question. If the auger is separating from the cap, you may have to replace both the cap and the auger. You will need to find the reason the auger is separating from the cap and then you will know which part to replace. There is no ice bucket and auger assembly listed for this model. There is an ice maker auger and crusher assembly, part number PS11738609. The part number for the ice bucket is PS11743653 and the part number for the ice bucket front plate is PS11738542. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
