poor design causes filters to clog easily
removed lower spray arm and the 6 torx screws that hold the pump cover and secondary filter housing. Removed it and the filter. Removed the pump housing and removed the impeller nut with a 5/16 nutdriver. Removed the old impeller and put in the new one. Replaced the parts in reverse order.
Dishwasher had weak drainingf pressure, turned out to be the drain impeller.
After I ruled out a hose blockage I looked in the washer.
Took the washer assembly apart, pretty straight forward, used the parts diagrams on this site for help. Found the drain impellor was jammed with glass and had lost a lot of its fins.
Found exactly what I needed here. Had it back together in less than an hour, and it seems to be working like new.
Dishwasher made a grinding sound - very loud. Did a poor job cleaning.
I took the lower pump assembly apart to find the problem. The biggest challenge was figuring out how to remove the cover. In the center, the assembly is held together with a round plastic nut about 1.5 inches in diameter - simply rotate it counter-clockwise to remove. I then removed the pump housing and found the impeller broken in two and the disk that was supposed to be attached to the top of the pump housing broken off. This was causing the noise and greatly reduced efficiency of the pump. I replaced the impeller and upper pump housing (bought the gasket too since it is hard to remove the old one) and put everything back together using the diagrams provided on the site. While many rate this repair as "easy" - it is only after you figure everything out! If you knew exactly what you were doing, the project could be done in 10 minutes. I had to study the diagram and it took me some time to disassemble, figure out what was wrong, read posts, order parts and reassemble. I also replaced the handle which had broken on one side which was simple. Part select is outstanding - I've used this site for my fridge, oven and now dishwasher and have avoided expensive service calls. If you are technically inclined and patient, you can repair your own appliances.
The repair was very involved, but from previous experience cleaning the dishwasher, it was worth not having to buy a new one. I removed all of the lower parts down to the motor shaft. That process is tricky, but if you do it methodically, and slowly, it is not too bad. The real problem wash the scum that was left behind by the soap used in the dishwasher. After removing all the parts, I ordered the parts I could not clean, and cleaned the parts I could. I figured out that the door was leaking because of the soap scum buildup on all the parts, causing the water level to raise faster than it could be pumped out. After I received the new parts, I simply put everything back together and it works better than ever now. I used the parts layout on your website to help in aiding me to put everything back correctly. I am very appreciative that I can get parts easily through your website, and not have to hire a "service technician" to come out and do the same thing, for the price of a new washer. Thanks!
Not washing properly. No water shooting through the jets
It takes about 5 min. to disassembled the lower jet system. As you disassemble, make sure you clean all the filters, and asses the integrity of the filters. If they are broken, you need to replace. Once you get to the impeller, you know it is broken because the lower part is loose. To replace you need to firmly hold the impeller as you unscrew the top screw. If the housing gasket is broken or too loose, replace. Otherwise you will have leak. Refer to your models diagram for proper assembly.
From the inside I removed all of the accesories down to the impeller . I replaced the impeller as a precaution measure just incase any wear from the backing plate of the dischareg housing coming undone. and reassembled the unit. It is very easy if you have a repair manuel. I received my parts the next day. Great company
removed the agitator, and a couple of baskets til i was able to gain access to the pump impeller & pump housing. i replace those parts, put back together, all works great now
Dishwasher started to make a grinding noise and was very loud
I disconnected the dishwasher and started to take the impeller assembly apart but could not get it all apart. Went on line to start looking for the parts and came to Partselect and they had and exploded view of the the whole inside assembly and I saw what was wroung, some parts had broken and melted together. With this picture I was able to see what had happened and able to get it all apart. Ordered the bad parts, got them within a week (this was over the hoildays), took about 15 minutes to get the new parts in and the dishwasher running. It runs great now, very quiet, it's like a new dishwasher for $30. P.S. I had to order some extra parts because one of my dogs was helping me and chew them up.
removed motor pump assembly, worked my way down from the top, found problem ,ordered parts. put back together it was real easy, replaced back into unit. turned on water and power. runs perfectly.
Well, first off I got the wrong timer from another source, I threw it away and ordered the right one. Secondly I haven't done the repair yet , I am waiting for my daughter to bring me the part on Jan1, I am in the Caribbean and didn't want to pay the shipping for it , plus Customs Duty. The repair is not a real complex deal but , I am a retired electrician so It's not too technical to me., about 6 torx screws and 3 self tappers to take the timer out , plus pulling the plugs on it. The impeller is a bit more work but not too bad , just pay attention to the order of the parts. I am just changing it out because the parts select site said this is the problem 90% of the time and I would hate to go through ordering more parts from the USA again. I hope it all works when I get the parts....

While changing the impeller on the dishwater i have a flat plate the appears-to have floated on top of the impeller but cannot find any reference to it and it does not appear on any of the diagrams. Any ideas?
