Hi Brian, Thank you for the question. When you clean the vent you need to make sure both the lint filter and duct vent and the vent leading from the dryer to the outside is clean. Lint and condensation can build up in the flex hose leading outside and the appliance will stop heating for safety purpose. While the dryer is running you can go to were the vent leads outside and make sure the flaps are opening up all the way. If they only open a bit this means the air is not flowing properly and there is a blockage. Hope this helps!
