This part is the replacement drive belt for your washer. It is made of black rubber and is approximately ½ an inch wide and 48 inches long. It has 6 grooves and is sold individually. The drive belt is found between the motor pulley and the drive pulley, and it connects the motor to the drive system. When the belt is running, it allows the basket or tub to spin. If the belt is stretched, worn, or broken, the tub will not turn. A warped belt can also cause the washer to be noisy while operating. This part is an authentic OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer.

Fast
New belt was noticeably shorter than the worn original, it was stretched that badly. I soaked the new belt in hot water to soften it up making installation easier. Washer works like new

Easy repair
A little expensive, but arrived less than 24 hours after ordering, and was an OEM part. Washer is 10 years old, old belt was at least 2” longer from stretching.

Exact Fit
Washer had broke. Son opened up machine and found the Drive Belt shredded. He offered to repair it for me. Called local appliance repair services. Drive belts were going to cost more than what I would pay buying it from Part Select, not to mention what the costs of service if I would require that as well. I ordered the part from Part Select, received within 2 days. My son was able to install and repair within minutes! Thank you for providing a service of obtaining parts and omitting the middle man, whom in this case was not required with inflated costs.

Bad drum belt
Our whirlpool washer drum wasn't turning and there was a thunking noise from the machine when the drum should have been rotating.
I opened the top and back of the washer using a ratchet wrench. There were 4 screws holding on the top (at the top rear of the machine) and about 12 or more holding on the back panel. Removing these I could see the belt had become frayed, had come off of the drum, and was bunched around the motor drive wheel. The old belt was still usable, but clearly not going to last much longer so I purchased a new belt. The new belt was tighter than the old belt (which is good) and so took a fair amount of effort to get back onto the drum. I had to hold in place while turning the drum, something hard to do because of the braces on the back of the washer get in your way. But, I eventually got the belt propery seated. I then replaced the back and top panels. All appears to be working as it should.

Washer belt stretched from years of use and walked off pulleys
I pulled the washer away from the wall to comfortably access the back panel. I then removed about a dozen 1/4 drive screws. I had to remove all the screws in the panel and the screws and cross brace directly behind the drum in order to install the new belt. Note: it will seem like the belt is too small when in reality it is perfect. There is no type of adjustments or tensioners that I found so you need to place the belt on the motor pulley correctly and then walk the belt on the drum pulley. Make sure the belt is lined up with the marks on the drum pulley that the original belt had left. You may need to attempt to walk the belt on 2 or 3 times before it finally goes on. If you have any mechanical knowledge you will find this to be a gravy job.

Motor bear bearings failed, making a very load screechy sound.
Turned off water unplugged washer removed screws a lot of them. Removed lower back brace. removed belt. 1 bolt holding motor on removed. disconnected ground wires and motor plug. wiggled motor out wiggled new one in put belt on and the many screws on the back on turned water back on, plug in and it work like a washer .
It didn't seem like the drum was spinning fast enough when washing a full load to wring all the water out of the clothes
I basically just followed the directions in the Parts Select video. The only thing that was a little difficult was getting the new belt to feed onto the drum pulley, but after a couple of tries I was able to get it on. I'm glad the video mentioned this might be a little difficult or I might have thought I was doing something wrong.

Drive belt replacement
I never did the repair because Partselect.com shipped the wrong part. Then they charged me a 2nd time to resend the correct part plus the fees for shipping the correct part overnight which I did not get it until 2 days later. Now I shipped both parts back & have to wait for a refund. I will never order from them again!

My washer works fine until it is on the spin cycle. It is very loud when it is spinning, but only on the spin cycle. Is there a bearing on the tub that could be making the noise?
For model number IFW7300WW01
Hi Liseanne,
Thank you for your question. The bearings are part of the outer tub. If the issue is the bearings, the outer tub, part number W11239040 , has been discontinued by Whirlpool and you will need to contact them for information on a replacement part. Their telephone number is 1-866-698-2538. If they provide you with a part number for the replacement part, you may call us back with it and we can verify if we have it available for you. You may also be able to locate the part you need by trying the following:
Using a search engine to type your part number and see if other retailers still have this part in stock.
Visiting online stores such as eBay and finding sellers that have this part.
Trying retailers and repair stores in your local area to see if they have the part in their inventory.
Talking to a local repair technician, who may have the part you need, or may be able to repair your existing part. If it is not the bearings causing this issue, you should check the drain pump, the drive belt, the shock absorbers, the tub baffle and the counter weight. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
