Heating element staying on all the time.
Well - I'd taken my clothes out of the dryer and put them on the pool table and went upstairs to go to bed. I thought at last moment to go pee first and ran back down stairs. Downstairs I smelled the odor of burning lint. When I looked into the laundry room, my dryer was glowing red hot - Sweet! It seems that the heating element was staying on even though the dryer was off. I looked in the various descriptions of myriad failures of dryers and didn't find that one in the documentation at all. So - I replaced the thermal fuse, the Thermal cut-off and the timer. Alas - the replacement timer had to be replaced because the clock motor was defective. When the second replacement timer arrived, it was quickly installed. Long story short - if the timer is in any play mode, the heating element stay on full blast - not low, not medium, but full on chub - and this is whether the fan or tumbler are on or not, door open or not. And so the mystery anomaly remains un-repaired, unresolved and perhaps even, undiagnosed. Note - the new Thermal Cut Off does not cut off anything even when it cookin red hot. Strange.
It was easy I just took off the back by removeing about 8 screws ,unhooked the wires , took the old timer off and put the new back on.--working like new now. Great service from Part Select.

removed screws on back plate removed 2 scews for timer assy all done with nut driver removed knob from front installed new timer assy hooked up wires inst back plate done== tested

Dryer would run but timer would not advance
I installed a new timer switch...loosening the six wires was delicate...I used a synthethic lubricant to loosen them first...that helped. Also, the wires are a different color so I made a diagram to make sure I got the new ones in place correctly...this was for an out-of-town rental so I left the dryer disabled for about a week while my renter was on vacation. All went well...the photos on your web site helped a lot to make sure I ordered the right one. Thanks!

Timer stopped working
Removed 8 nuts (had to use an extension to get to 3of them). Unplugged the 'bad' timer and plugged the new one in. Re-bolted and thats it.
Note: Removing the plugs from the timer was a little tricky.

Timer won’t advance; no heat
So I went down the rabbit hole on this site after my dryer stopped working after a move. Long story short. If your appliance doesn’t work get a multimeter and check your outlet and appliance thoroughly. My issues were cause by one leg not being secured into the socket.

When timer is engaged heater elements begin to buzz and heat up to a dangerous glowing level. Does not matter if door is open or shut still buzzes and begins heating. I have checked continuity on fuse, coils, start switch and all are good. Replaced thermostat, internal bias and internal cut off kit and dryer continues to engage elements as soon as timer is turned to any on position. Once start button is pushed, the dryer will operate normally and timer will function and shut dryer off. Element glow is reduced once drum moves and creates air flow. Could this be a faulty timer and how do you check it. It has continuity on all terminals when times is engaged and continuity on some terminals when timer is off.

Thank you for your question. If the dryer is getting too hot and the dryer remains on whether or not the dryer door is open or not, then the issue could be the door switch. I would also check the timer. Another thing to check would be the duct that the vents the air from the dryer outside. If it is clogged with lint, then this can cause overheating in the dryer. General question, will it damage the dryer timer if you turn it backwards,
Hello Paul, thank you for your question. It may, over time, wear the gears out in the timer. The timer should be turned clockwise. I hope this helps.

The dryer will turn, but will not heat.

My dryer quit heating on the high heat auto sense setting, no or little heat. The high heat timed setting continued (s) to work. The low heat timed setting also had little or no heat. I replaced the thermal cut off kit and the high heat timed setting works but the auto sense setting, the low heat timed setting and the no heat setting do not even start. In looking at the symptoms, it may be the timer or it may be the other thermostat or both. Any suggestions on where to start?

When the dryer is opened during the heat portion of the cycle the motor stops but the heat stays on. The heat stays on during the cooling off period but will shut off when the door is opened, heat is also on when switch is set on " no heat"
