Broken handle on dishwasher
Ordered new part(s), parts arrived in a few days, removed the 6 screws holding the control panel cover onto the dishwasher door (requires a torx driver), removed control panel cover (carefully, so as not to break any wires on the wiring harness from the door to the computer board), unscrewed/removed door switch, popped off the the two plastic brackets holding the door handle assembly (door handle, latch bracket, door latch actuator, spring) to the front door, removed the broken handle, installed the new handle, reversed steps, done. Works like a champ.

The one thing I did do at the same time is notice that there's only one return spring for the door handle (even though both the handle and latch bracket have hooks for springs on both sides. I suspect this is what caused the door handle to break in the first place (the spring causes uneven tension on the handle, which over time caused the arms on the handle to catch and break). So I also ordered a second spring, and when I attached the new door handle to the latch bracket assembly I also installed return springs on both sides. With even tension, the handle doesn't tend to twist when it raises and lowers the latch, so hopefully won't break again. Just a thought while you have the unit off the dishwasher.

The door handle broke inside so that it was all loose and was difficult to close.
Recoved the screws which secured the handle assembly (approx 8). Removed the old parts and screwed home the new parts and replaced the assembly. Worked perfectly.

The hardest thing for me was to decipher the model number as they use '1s' and 'Is' and you can't tell them apart.

Also the part diagrams should have each part number listed to make it easier. Took me longer to work out what to order than do the repair.

Door would not latch.
Partial disassembly determined thar the plastic handle was broken and a tensnioning spring was missing (had fallen out of reach within door) Ordered new replacement parts and received next day. Great delivery service. Installed in short time by removing four screws, disconnecting two wires and reversing procedures to reassemble. Finding parts on line was a great help and the delivery service was great,

broken handle
The repair would have been really easy if the parts replaced had come all in one...When you order a replacement handle they do not include the 2 small springs....
the springs are a bit hard to get on, but once they were in place everything went well. You need 2 people to assemble it.
One to hold the door and the guts of the electronics, and the other to install the handle.

Dishwasher door would close but not latch
The door catch clearly was not acutating correctly when the door handle was depressed. I removed the 6 screws (star pattern, not phillips) from the top of the door to allow access to the door handle and catch. the door handle is made from a thin and poorly constructed plastic piece with two arms that attach to the body of the latch. The latch has an electrical switch that has two wires attached to it. Note the location of the wires before you disconnect them. remove the latch assembly and door handle together. Remove the damaged door handle. Note where the return springs are located on the handle and latch. Replace the new handle on the latch mechanism, attach the springs, put the complete mechanism in the door and replace the screws. Finding the problem took 5 minutes and the remove of the top of the door. Waited 4 days for the part, 10 minutes to install the new part and back in operation

Dishwasher would not latch / and or start
First I watched a YouTube video on replacing a latch. It seemed easy enough, and the guy recommended Part Select. After finding my model, watching the video for the specific latch assembly, reading the reviews/suggestions, I jumped at it. Quickly took the old parts out, and ordered new. I did order an extra spring because like one reviewer noted, having a spring on only one side of the latch is a design flaw, and the reason for the broken latch in the first place. My only problem came on reassembly. I should have taken a photo or two BEFORE taken everything apart. After several trials and errors it went quickly back together AND it worked perfectly.

Broken handle
I wasn't sure at first what was causing my door not to latch. When I removed the dishwasher cover, I discovered that the handle had completely broken away on one side and was about to break on the other. It was fairly easy to change out, and I'm not mechanical at all. (Do I dare admit that I'm female?). Watching an online video helped quite a bit. Since I was replacing the handle anyways, I went ahead and ordered new door release springs also. The dishwasher only comes with one, but there's space for one on each side, so I figured that two are better than one and they weren't expensive.

Does the little spring attach to the actuator? Or how does it work and exactly where does it connect to? We got the spring and the bolt latch. The handle does not drop down after pushing up to open the door and the door will not hold closed. Do i need the actuator and the handle? These drawing are not that good to do thr assembly. There does not appear to be a video on my model showing latch replacement.I asked for the latch assembly so i could just put it in place and was sent the bolt latch.

Replaced door handle and door latch bracket kit and when attempting to start the dishwasher, the start/resume button lights and then starts blinking and the dishwasher does not start. Noticed that there is a door release spring in the picture. Is this needed and where does it go. Looked at your video at ://www.Youtube.Com/watch?V=qkk9rvdv7ic and that does not help since it is not the model that I have.

Hi Kevin, Thank you for the question. Yes the spring is required. One end should hook to the end of the handle and then onto the bracket. Hope this helps!
