Bellow torn on HE3t Kenmore
Take off 3 screws at back of top panel and remove. Remove screw to the left of the soap dispenser and push tab on the right inside the machine to remove control panel and lay the panel on top of the machine without disconnecting. Remove 3 screws on the bottom to remove the bottom panel. You have to pull a bit hard to get it off. Remove 3 screws to push through the door lattch and safety switch. Push the window washer nozzle head through the bellow along with the soap feed nozzle.Remove the retainer wire/spring from the bellow where it attaches to the middle panel/inlet. Remove two screws at the top of the middle panel and two screws on the bottom to remove the middle panel with door attached. Loosen the retainer strap ( a large hose clamp) which anchors the bellow to the tub. Remove the plastic nozzle from the window wash hose and mount it in the new bellow. I couldn't get the plastic retainer washer off the nozzle but managed to seat the bello between the washer and the nozzle anyway. Connect the hoze to the nozzle making sure it's pointed in the correct direction. Pull the oblong soap dispenser nozzle into the corresponding bello opening. Seat the bellow around the internal tub opening and place the large hose type clamp, after unthreading it, around the bellow and tighten. Install the middle panel and attach the door latch and safety switch. Now seat the front part of the bellow to the middle panel and attach the retainer hoop/spring. This is a little tricky. I moistened the front rim of the bellow so the hoop would slide over the edge better. You have to stretch the spring to get it to seat properly. Having experience changing bicycle tires helps. Then install the control panel and other panels.

Rubber Gasket (bellow) door seal "worn" out
Have to remove the front two sections of the washer and top- I had to remove the control panel too. POS kenmore gasket failed after about 2.5-3 years. Old gasket got holes in it - If you have a HE3 or HE4 model- look for it! you will get them too!!! Guaranteed.

Water leak through bellow next to the washer door
simple removal of few screws holding the washer panels and replacing bellow. 20 minutes to complete entire job. Kenmore mechanical washer design is very simple so all components access is very easy.

Bellow was ripped at the fold, leaking water into the casing.
Removed the top panel. Removed the control panel (one screw behind the detergent drawer). Removed the three screws that held the door latch and switch (pushed it through). Removed the spring-loaded wire that fastens the boot to the door panel(look very closely around the bellow around the opening for the door). Removed the four screws at each corner of the front panel and removed the panel (door still intact). Loosened the band clamp that holds the bellow to the tub. Removed the vent tube from the old bellow and installed on the new bellow. Installation is the reverse of the removal. One tip: when installing the spring-loaded wire around the door panel opening, use several small (padded end) spring clamps to hold the wire in place as you install the wire. If you do not, the areas that you have installed will come undone. Be sure to be careful and use padded ends so that you lessen the likelihood of puching a hole in the new bellow.

Water flooding from under the washer
Remive 3 screws along bottom front panel and remove that by pulling down and off. Remove 4 screws from the back of washer along the top to remove top cover. Pull out dispenser tray. Remove 2 screws from along dispenser, then carefully remove the control panel by inserting a screwdriver to release internal clips along the top. Put the control panel on top of the washer. This gives you access to 2 more screws at the top, and also 2 screws on the bottom, that will release the door panel. You'll have to disconnect 3 wire connections to get access to the wide rubber gasket (bellow). There is an inner ring and an outer ring holding it in place. The outer ring is a spring. Pull that off. Then remove the inner by loosening the screw holding the clamp. Pull the bellow off and replace with the new one. Make sure the gasket goes completely over the large water spout and the smaller button sprayer at the top taking caution to have the gasket sit between the two plastic washers attached to it. Make sure the belllow is firmly seated inside and out before attaching the bellow. Reattach everything in reverse order. Problems you'll run into: getting the spring on the outer gasket as it is tight to get on and the rubber will keep slipping off the edge where it is seated. Also, you may need an extra pair of hands to hold the door up while you attach those wire connections as there is no play in the wires.

Bellows is severely distorted. “control locked” is lit, even with power off.
For model number GHW9100LW1
PartSelect logo
Hello Mike, thank you for your question. The bellow should be replaced, which is PartSelect Number: PS11744939. Once that repair is complete you can plug the unit back in and see if the control locked function is still on. If it is follow these steps to try and unlock it. Locate the "Control Lock/Unlock" button on your Duet's control panel. Press and hold the "Control Lock/Unlock" button for three seconds. Release the "Control Lock/Unlock" button when the control lock icon on the display disappears. I hope this helps.

The bellows on the washer does not leak but has black mold that i have not been able to remove. Any suggestions on removing the bellows so that i can clean the mold or replace the bellows? Thank you
For model number GHW9200LQ
PartSelect logo
Hi Gene, Thank you for your inquiry. To clean the bellow, you will need either bleach or vinegar, a spray bottle, rubber gloves and a cloth. Run a normal wash cycle with hot water and either bleach or vinegar. After wash cycle is complete, mix one part bleach with four parts water in a spray bottle and wipe away any remaining mold from the bellow with a cloth and be sure to wear gloves while cleaning the bellow. If the mold is not coming off easily, you will need to keep bleach and water mixture on the bellow for a longer period of time. Once the mold has been removed from the bellow, rinse it with clean water. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
