Timer buzzes while working. Could replacing the timer unit address this issue or is there another part that could be causing the problem.

Hello Jim and thank you for writing. It certainly sounds like it could be a faulty timer PS11742181, you should check for signs of damage, and replace if necessary. Also, check your door switch PS11741701 as this could send the wrong signal to the timer and causes it to buzz.We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime if you require further assistance.

My dryer is not heating up. I ordered the thermal cut-off kit (order #17057103) and replaced both thermostats however i still have no heat. I noticed that the dryer will not stop running when it completes any of the cycles (only when opening the door). Could a bad timer be the reason for both no heat and not stopping? I dont want to spend $200 if it is say the thermal fuse and i could spend $20? Appreciate your help, have used your site and service for many years and kept this dryer going!

Hi David, Thank you for your question. If your dryer does not shut off when the cycle is complete, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the door switch, the thermal fuse, the push-to-start switch, the heating element and the door catch and strike. We hope this helps! Good luck with the repair!

Dryer does not heat on any cycle. I've replaced the thermal fuse, cycling thermostat, heating element and the high limit kit which includes the high limit fuse and high heat thermostat. Could it be the timer or is there something I've missed?

Hi Wayne, thank you for getting in touch. Based on the description that you have provided, we would recommend checking the lint filter, part number PS16543575, first. If the lint filter has not been cleaned out, some dryers will switch their heating elements off. If the lint filter is clean, you may need to check the timer, part number PS11742181. If the timer is not faulty, you may need to check the drive motor, part number PS334304. Most dryer drive motors have a centrifugal switch that energizes a start winding when the motor is first started and closes a heat cycle contact to allow the heat source to work. If the centrifugal switch on the motor is faulty, either the motor will not run or the motor will run but the dryer will not heat. Since most centrifugal switches are not sold separately, the entire motor will need to be replaced if the switch is defective. We hope this helps!
