Timer not working
Repair was straightforward. When I got the old timer out, I found the problem. Two small screws secure the geardrive for the timer to the electrical part. One of the screws had vibrated loose and allowed the gearbox to float away from the electrical board, so the gears werent meshing and the little ground tab inside wasn't touching the metal geardrive housing. In short, I would recommend removing your old timer and diagnosing the problem. before spending $100 on a new one. If I had done that, I could have just tightened the screw back in and saved myself the $$. Just FYI

Dryer timer stopped working
Unfortunately it is not easy to get to this part due to the fact the control panel is attached to the top of the dryer by both plastic clips and screws. I was able to bend the back down in the back to gain access to the two screws that held the dryer timer in place. This job is much easier if you have an assistant to hold the thin tin or steel backing away from the control panel while reconnecting the wire sensors to the new timer. This is the second time I have used Parts Select they are excellent and their prices are very competitive. The part was identical to the broken part. I saved at least $100 by doing the job myself.

Timer would not stop.
Cut power at breaker panel to Dryer.
Remove back cover of controls panel by removing six screws. Removed control knob and one screw from timer. Removed wires from bad timer (one at a time) and put them on new timer. Installed new timer in control panel and replaced the knob and screw on front. Then replaced panel on back of control panel. Cut power back on at breaker panel and tested unit for proper operation.

The dryer timer would not work and the dryer heat would only work in the medium or low heat position.
I followed the video instruction provided by this site exactly. Replaced the timer first by removing back plate after unplugging electricity from wall. Then removed the timer by unscrewing 3 screws. With needle nose pliers removed all connector wires. Placed all connector wires on new timer (all were well marked). Positioned new timer and screwed timer into place with three screws (2 in back; 1 in front). Replaced back of timer. Removed back of dryer next by using nut driver, removed vent, removed 2 screws and unplugged 2 connectors, removed heat sensor. Replaced connectors on new sensor and screwed sensor into place. Reattached back panel and heat vent. Total time 40 minutes.

Dryer would not turn off
Followed instructions on website. I put new part next to old part and as I disconnected a wire from old part, I attached it to new part , one wire at a time so I would know where they went. It worked!

Dryer would not stay running if I placed the timer on anything above 30 min
I took the timer knob off, then took the back off. I then took a picture of the so I would know how the wires would go back but I didn't need because the timer is labeled. I then took the timer out snapped wires off then replaced them on the new one and bolted it back it. It was very easy and took less than 15 min to do.

I purchased the timer, internal bias, and the thermal fuse for my Kenmore series 80 dryer. So, the timer moves properly on the timed dryer cycle but does not move at all when it is in the auto moisture sensing cycle. Any thoughts on this? Thanks bruce

Hello Bruce, thank you for your question. It sounds like the issue is with the moisture sensor part number W10816105. This part detects the moisture in the clothes and allows the timer to move accordingly. I would recommend replacing this part. I hope this helps!

Trying to diagnose the problem with the dryer not starting. I push the start button and I hear a brief click sound from the timer. Is it a timer or or start push button issue?
