The Felt Gasket between drum and door ripped, vent manifold from Dryer to fan and lint screen broken
I pulled the bottom panel and the door panel to replace the manifold and felt gasket around the drum. I removed old gasket very easily, it peeled right off. I use brake cleaning fluid (Spray Can from Auto Zone about $1.45) to remove old glue. Used spray contact cement (Elmer's about 4.50 at Ace) and sprayed the panel and gasket surfaces and let dry. I then applied a 2nd coat and let get "tacky" and installed the gasket. You will need an extra set of hands to hold the gasket in place while you stretch it over the the panel. The vent manifold is held in place with 3 phillips screws and was installed in about 10 minutes. The only gripe I had was in the Parts-Select illustrated breakdown they don't tell you the lint screen comes with the manifold assembly, so I bought one of them too. Now have an extra lint screen

Broken lint filter
Picked up the box off of my back porch and carried it in the house. Opened up the box, took the filter out of the box and unwrapped it. Walked into the laundry room opened up the dryer door and gently slid the filter into the filter holder.... BAM!! It was done!!

Auger Assembly on Maytag Washer was missing two agitation fins
I ordered the necessary parts which were so easy to find with Model Number of the Washer, ordered parts on a Tuesday and recieved them on a Friday!, wow was I surprised.
I simply removed the softener dispenser, used a socket set to remove single bolt and pulled broken agitator out and installed the new one after replacing the bolt.

replacing broken lint filter
Ordered new lint filter, which did not quite fit. Called company and was told that filter had been redesigned to remove the felt surround, and that sometimes the new filters did not seat well. It turned out that the exhaust pipe was filled with packed-down lint causing the new filter not to go all the way into the slot. My husband surmised that that was why the first filter broke because volunteers at the Humane Society adoption center were trying to shove the filter into a groove that no longer worked. He took off the top, the front, and one other piece before removing all of the lint he could reach. Once that was done, the filter fit fine.

My lint trap in my dryer broke.
My repair was very easy, the lint trap just comes assembled like when you buy the dryer. However, I had a hard time finding the dryer part at a store.
Part select had the item, they made it really easy to find online. The best part is how fast I received it! My dryer broke the day before thanksgiving (wednesday) i ordered the part that night and had it saturday morning! and thats with thursday being thanksgiving! I didnt even the pay extra for faster shipping! I would use them again and recommend them!

I see that the new filter doesn't have the felt rim that the original one had. So does that mean that i can remove the felt rim from my filter without any issues? It's falling off anyway, but i keep trying to stick it back, although i can't see any reason why it was there in the first place.
For model number SDE4000AYW

Hi Marilyn. Thank you for the great question. The new upgraded part was made without the felt. The felt was used so the filter slipped into the slot easier or "smoother" and it is not needed. You can remove the old felt from the filter you have now. Hope this helps!

The dryer replacement lint trap states the felt pad is no longer included on the part, is the felt liner no longer needed or recommended?
For model number SDE4000AYW

Why doesn't it need felt liner or the dust will escape from around screen?
For model number SDE505DAYW
PartSelect logo
Hi Sidney, Thank you for the question. The felt was there to make it easier to slide the filter in and out of the duct. The heat from the dryer woudl melt the glue that held it in place and it woudl fall off. Whirlpool has decided to no longer make the filter with the felt. Hope this helps!

Hi my lint filter is cracked just in the plastic part, I’m still using it but lint is collecting only at the bottom of the filter and thought maybe that was a symptom of a different problem. Only about the bottom third of the filter gets lint on it after a drying cycle. Do you think there is a different problem or should a new filter fix this problem?
For model number mde5806azw
PartSelect logo
Hello Nick, Thank you for the question. We suggest replacing the filter. The crack may cause the air flow to change and not allow the lint to reach the full filter. We hope this helps.

I see there is a replacement number (wp37001142) for my Amana lint filter. It is shaped differently than the one I have, will this work just as well without lint getting in the hose and causing a fire??
For model number DLE330RAW
PartSelect logo
Hi Dottie, Thank you for the question. This is a manufacturer substitution. Part may differ in appearance but is a functional equivalent to prior parts. Hope this helps!
