Dryer would not stop when you opened the door but it would stop if it went through the cycle.
First thing was to unplug the dryer. Then pull out the lint collector and removed the two screws. Then used a small putty knife and insert it in between the top portion of the dryer and the lower portion about an inch and a half in from each end and depressed the tab inside. Next lift up the top section. Open the dryer door remove the two screws that hold the switch in place. disconnect the switch from the harness reconnect the new switch to the harness and put the switch back threw the hole then put the two screws back in to hold the switch in place. Lower the top portion of the dryer and put the screws back in put the lint collector back and it should be good to go...

I was so happy it was just the switch (door)
I had to go to the landry mat one time when I received the part I took the screws out 4 places and replaced it fast. I am 75 years old and a lady but, my husband was going to buy a new one. instead of trying.

Now I have gained another item to put in my know how file. Thank you for sending the right part.

Is the little black lever on the door switch supposed to be loose? That is to say that should it easily flop back and forth or is it supposed to be firm?
PartSelect logo
Hello William, Thanks for your question. Yes, it should be loose enough so that the door can activate the switch when it closes. I hope this helps.

If faulty, would it cause the heating element not to kick on? I replaced heat element and the sensor attached to element.
For model number 11063112100
PartSelect logo
Hi Robert, Thank you for the great question. If the door switch was defective the dryer would not start at all. If the dryer still starts but has no heat I suggest checking the Thermal Fuse part number PS11741460.It is a safety mechanism that stops the flow of electricity to the heating element when a dryer overheats. When this fuse is faulty, your dryer will not heat properly or at all. Hope this helps!
