Sorry, we couldn't find any existing installation instruction that matched.
Coins had been pulled into the pump, breaking blades and cracked casing.
First I unplugged the washer and removed the back cover plate of the washer. I drained the pump and drainage lines. I then removed the two hose clamps and removed the connecting hoses. I removed the electrical connection. I loosened the three mounting bolts holding the mounting plate holding the pump. Once out, I could remove the pump from the plate and replaced it with the new part. I remounted the mounting plate, attached the hoses and clamps. I reattached the electrical connection and the back plate to the washer.

The Maytag is well designed and the parts are easy to reach. At least from this experience, the machine was designed with efficient repairs in mind. This is a sign of a well made machine.

Water will not drain properly. This not only left the clothes very wet it also made the cycle take longer.
First thing I did was to unplug the washer's power cord from wall outlet. Secondly I disconnected the hot and cold water hoses. You need to have a pan or bucket handy to catch any water once hoses are disconnected. Thirdly I removed the screws that secures the rear panel and removed panel to expose the pump at the bottom of the washer. I then disconnected the power cable going to the pump and removed the inlet and outlet hoses connected to the pump. You may need a set of pliers to remove the hose clamps if you don't have strong fingers. Note! you will need some rags or towels to soak up the water when you remove the drain hose that goes from the washer's tub to the pump inlet once the hose is disconnect. Once this is completed, I finally removed the 3 screws that secured the pump to the washer's frame and removed the faulty pump. Once pump is removed reinstall new pump in reverse. If you are handy with a screw driver and pliers this is an easy fix. Once pump was replaced the washer ran and drained fine. To avoid future damages to your pump always check clothes pockets for foreign objects prior to washing. The damage to my pump was caused by a quarter that got in the drain hose and damaged the pump's impeller. Be real careful not to cut yourself, because there are a few sharp edges on the washer's panel and frame when removing the pump. I hope my experience helps someone who may encounter the same problem.

Quarter was in the Water Pump
The repair was very simple I also broke the door latch when this happen as well to get the water out of the drum. Both components were very simple to replace and took less than a hour. My order was deliver very promply even a day earlier than I expected. Everything was correct and the price was well below any price I could find in town or on any other web site. I hope I never need anything else for this equipment but if I do this will be my first choice for the parts purchase. Thanks, Jason Frost,Texas

Blades of impeller of drainage pump broken.
Unplug the washer and remove the back cover plate of the washer. Have old towels and a small receptacle to catch water from the lines. Drain the pump and drainage lines. Remove the two hose clamps and remove the connecting hoses. Disconnect the electrical connection from the pump (small plug connection). Undo the three mounting bolts holding the mounting plate for the pump. Remove the pump from the plate and install the new part. Remount the mounting plate, attach the hoses and clamps. Reattach the electrical connection and the back plate to the washer. Plug that baby in and works like a champ!

Water not draining
A nickel made its way into the pump and broke all the impeller blades. Since impeller can't be replaced, I had to buy a whole new pump. Although the pump I ordered looked very similar to the original pump, the base did not match and could not be installed. I had to remove the pump cover which contains the mounting base from the old pump and install it on the new pump. That was quicker than returning the pump for replacement. The washer now drains properly and there are no leaks.

water in bottom of washer---clothes still wet
removed the pump, found a quarter lodged in it, noticed fins were completely wore down. Got the model number, went to PartSelect.com and ordered a new pump. The price was much lower than anywhere here in Washington plus the pump arrived in 2 business days (exactly what I paid for). I highly recommend Part Select ---I know I will be using them anytime I need an appliance part!

Drain pump would not pump out water
Installed new pump but washer still would not identify pump. Isolated pump with it's own power line and time the wash cycle to plug in the pump and drain the washer, if I miss the timing it goes to a trouble code and I cut off the washer and back on to set to the" rinse and spin" cycle to complete the wash. Not the best but am retired, the washer was given to me from a friend, and it works.

My washer wasn't draining
After watching some video on this site I managed to diagnose the problem as being a faulty pump. Ordered the part which to a bit longer to be delivered than I anticipated. Replacing the pump was easy but I had to do some adjustments. Had to take a piece of the old pump and replace the same piece on the new pump to be able to secure the pump on the mount. But once I've finished the reward was big.

Washer stops a 9 min at start of the spin cycle...water pump starts to hum for a few seconds then stops humming then starts to hum again but does not punp water...there for will not finish cycle and door will not unlock...could the pump be jammed with an object...sound like a locked rotor
For model number NFW7200TW
PartSelect logo
Hi Rudy, Thank you for your question. Yes, I would suggest checking your pump and your drain hoses for any blockage first. Make sure to also check if there is any damage inside the drain pump as well. Sometimes if a coin or something hard gets sucked down there, it can harm the inside of the pump. If you do not see any damage and there are no blockages, I would suggest then testing your pressure sensor and your door switch with a multi meter. If both of those parts are fine you may have to replace your pump. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Unit washes fine but will not go to spin or drain cycles. Before i spend $200 on a new pump, i would like to know if that's it.Thank you
For model number MAH8700AWW
PartSelect logo
Hello Kreatha, thank you for writing. The first thing to check on the Drain Pump would be if the impeller spins or not. If the impeller does not spin, then the Drain Pump is faulty. You can also test the voltage of the Drain Pump with a multi-meter while the machine is set to the drain/spin cycle. It needs 120 volts to run correctly. You can also test the ohms. A reading of 16 ohms is a good reading. I hope this helps!

Seems like pump failure. Getting code ND, on my Inglis front load, on the digital display. The timer has moved 1 extra minute on all settings, is this what happens when there is a problem with the washer, all settings move up 1 minute?
For model number Part Number WP34001340 replaces: 34001340.
PartSelect logo
Hi Mike, Thank you for your question. The ND error code is letting you know that water is not draining form your washer and you either have a stopped up washer or a clogged drain pump filter. You will need to inspect the washer and the pump to see which part is causing the issue. If the amount of time for each wash cycle has increased, you will need to need to test the timer/control board to see if it is working correctly. You will need to test the parts with a multimeter. Here is a link to one of our videos on YouTube that you may use as a general reference on how to use one, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWC44fHn0As. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

The question i had is the door is locked the cloths are wet inside machine when machine quit working this drain pump going bad is that why i can't get the door to open
PartSelect logo
Hi Connie, Thank you for your question. It sounds like your door lock may have malfunctioned. I would suggest testing that part with a multi meter to check. It could be your drain pump, or your pressure sensor as well. You can test the sensor with a multi meter as well. If both your door latch and your sensor are testing fine, then it is more than likely your drain pump that is the issue. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

If this part is defective will it keep the washer door from unlocking when washer is turned on and when you hit the cycle knob to start your machine all it does is hum
For model number nwf7200tw
PartSelect logo
Hi Connie, Thank you for the question. Normally the pump will not have effect on the door lock. The door should already be locked by time the appliance gets to the drain cycle. If the door lock is not locking, the door lock latch , PartSelect Number: PS11745016 may need to be replaced.Hope this helps!
