Clothes would not Dry
I simply removed the back of the dryer to gain access to the heating element. Once I removed the heating element I figured I would also replace the thermostat and thermal fuse as preventive maintenance.

I know that one terminal on the hi limit thermostat connects to the low limit thermostat and the other terminal connects to the heating element. Does it matter which one? Don't know if the writing on it should be right side up or upside down. The video doesn't say.

Hi, my Maytag dryer will turn on and led lights go on but when I press start, I hear a click but it actually doesn’t start. The motor doesn’t go on and the tumbler doesn’t turn. Is it enough to just change the dryer thermal fuse or do I also need to change the thermostat? Right now i just ordered the thermal fuse and waiting for delivery. Thanks

Hello Melisa, Thank you for the question. I suggest testing the Door Switch PartSelect Number: PS334284. This part recognizes whether the door is open or closed and will prevent the appliance from starting if the door is open. Hope this helps!

Our trusty old dryer still works - heats and cycles - but doesn't fully dry clothes even on long / high temp settings. Is there a way to troubleshoot which part or parts need replacement? If not and I need to just replace parts until the problem is fixed, what do you suggest I do that?
For model number GEW9200LW2

Hello Jack, thank you for contacting us. We would recommend cleaning the lint filter, part number PS1491676. If this does not help, please test the following parts with a multimeter to pinpoint the fault: the moisture sensor, part number PS11741408, the internal bias thermostat, part number PS11746740, and the dryer heating element, part number PS11741416. Also, make sure that the blower wheel, part number PS11743811, is running. We hope this sorts out your problem!

My dryer will not cool down at the end of the cycle. Clothes are so hot. Is this the high limit thermostat or the heating element problem?
For model number WED9151yw0
PartSelect logo
Hello David, thank you for your question. That is most likely an issue with the PartSelect Number PS334387 hight limit and thermal cut off fuses, or the internal bias thermostat PartSelect Number PS11746740. We would recommend testing/replacing those parts. We hope this helps.
