I have always enjoyed partselect.ca
There are three baffles in the Maytag Dryer. Two tall and one short. Make sure you buy the correct one. In my case, I needed both. When you have the dryer apart, check the other two by removing them. One of the original baffles had a cracked thread hole and I would not have known unless I took it off to check it too. This company is fantastic! The free schematics are extremely useful. Don't forget to check out any videos on how to replace the baffle. This is an extremely easy job. Especially because of partselect.ca. John Talbot (ztalbot2000@gmail.com)

Dryer Baffle replacement made easy
This is my first time using Partselect, I usually contacted a local company to obtain parts. When they advised the cost and time to get the dryer baffles needed, I decided to check other sources. Partselect was super easy, received an email saying the part shipped the same day and within 2 days it arrived in perfect condition. Not only was it half the cost, it arrived in well under the local companies projected time. I am thoroughly impressed with Partselect on my first time, and believe that I have found an alternative to the local supply warehouse.

Made loud noise when tumbling "ALL LOADS"
We went to Lowe's to look at a new washer/dryer set. We told the sales lady what our dryer was doing, she said she had that problem before and told us it was probably the rollers had gone bad. The next morning, 5 a.m my wife couldn't sleep so she took the dryer front off, pulled out the tumbler and found the rollers, the lady was right . My wife already had your web site pulled up on the computer so I could look to see what parts I needed. We called to order our parts, we were told it would be 2-5 days before they would get here, they were here the NEXT DAY!!! That was awesome!! I put the new roller on, my wife put everything back together, she turned the dryer on and.... it was so quiet we weren't sure if it was on so I opened the door and held the button to watch it turning, peacefully. Thank you all and the sales lady at Lowe's for saving us $1200. We did our repair with your parts and only spent $85.00.

One of the Baffles came loose.
I took out screws holding top to dryer & raised the top & proped it up to gain access to inside of the dryeeer drum. I then inatalled the new baffle & secured it with 2 screws. It would have been better if the part came with new screws. It was hard to determine which was the right screws for this application.

8 - glue new strip on where the old strip was = to the front and back plates that hold the drum
9 - put it back together :)

The Short and Tall Baffles needed to be replaced after falling off
Go to Youtube and type in the repair (baffle repair). Carefully took apart the dryer as video instructed by unscrewing all necessary parts and took pics of the screws and parts as I went along, so that I could put back together without any problem. I did the repair myself not my husband. I will say, that it helps if you have an extra pair of hands when drilling the nut into the baffle to hold in place. In addition, I used washers to keep nut from falling through since the hole on the drum on one side was big and not holding the nut in place.

End of one baffle pulled away from drum
Following the instructions I pulled off the door and front panel. After rotating drum so the broken baffle was at the bottom I used a socket to remove the two screws on either end. I removed the broken baffle and inserted the new baffle in its place. Reinserted the screws, front panel, and door. I do strongly suggest having the manual handy to view the steps. It's available in PDF format.

How do i determine if i need the short or tall baffle?
For model number MDE6400AYW
Hello Bob, Thank you for your inquiry. You could measure the height of the remaining baffles. There should be 2 that are the same size and one that is larger. The short baffle measures approximately 3 inches high and the tall baffle measures approximately 4 inches high, the screws are not included. Hope this helps!

I asked earlier about the baffle size in this model of dryer. I think you miss understood the question, i was asking if they use all large baffles or all small baffles or if they were mixed. Also i was asking the dimensions of the screws not whether you sold them or not.
For model number MDE5500AYW
Hello Robert, Thank you for the question. Very sorry for the mix up. The appliance has 2 tall and one short Baffle, PartSelect Number PS11741064. Very sorry but we do not have the size of the screw, PartSelect Number PS11741141. Hope this helps!
