Dryer running but not heating
Popped open rear access panel and logged on to website. Performed search for "dryer not heating" and came across helpful tips and ordered all components pertaining to heating system and removed and replaced them. Working better than better and saved myself hundreds of dollars. Highly recommend for those "do it yourselfers"!

Dryer does not heat
After much grief and finding out that to replace my existing washer/dryer unit would cost about $ 1200, I was doing some research and found Partselect. I replaced two
thermostats and the thermal fuse in the dryer and now it works better than even before it went bad !. Turned out that I did not need the element, but I'm keeping it anyways in case I do at some point in the future.

Drum turns, but no heat.
Wasn't sure which part bad. So replaced all appropriate heating parts with your knowledgeable help. Now works great. Much cheaper than having a tech come! Easily repaired. Just remove some screws and replace. Hardest part was removing the unit from the built in cabinet.

The air heater would not heat air to dry on the heat cycle
I misdiagnosed the problem as heater element because I did not have my voltage meter with me. The problem was the heat thermostat that senses temperature in the drum and burns out if it's too high. There are two other safety cut off thermostats that when triggered will reset themselves when the temp cools. All three should be tested before looking for something else, like the cycle selector switch; that one is not only more complex but very difficult to access. One is on the heater element itself, the other senses the temperature of air flowing out of the heater element. I believe this array of thermostats is similar on every drier. Each one should be tested with an electrical multifunction tester before guessing what's wrong. The drum thermostat, a $13 part, was the easiest to replace, once I got the back of the drier completely open, a not too difficult task. And, as I found out talking to a repairman, is the thermostat that most commonly fails. I will add that Partselect was most accommodating in providing advice and in authorizing me to return the heater element and refunding the overnight shipping fee. And their web site is terrific--the only drawback being you have to read it over thoroughly before concluding you are an "expert". I would work with them before any other vendors. Good luck!

My combo dryer won't heat. I checked continuity for all parts, and replaced the timer. I just found out the element is for a 240v system. Do you sell a 120v element, or must the dryer internal connections be changed/modified somehow? Thank you.

Good Day Bryan. Thank you for your question in regards to your unit (Model Number LTE5243DQ9). Based on our research there may be an issue with a household fuse (perhaps the fuse has blown, or has a circuit breaker?). Is the drum turning, but you have no heat? Electric dryers use 2 fuses or circuit breakers. You may need to replace the fuse or reset the circuit breaker. If a problem continues you may need to call an electrician. We also researched into seeing if a 120v element is compatible with this unit and did not find that one was. Hope this helps and Best Regards.
