Where is the defrost thermostat located. Your diagram only show that it is at the end of a cable.

Hello Peter, Thank you for the question. The thermostat is attached to the main wire harness and then clips to the evaporator coils. Hope this helps!

My freezer gets snow on rear wall, ice cream is soft and refrigerator is not getting cold

Hi Mark,
Thank you for your question. If the refrigerator and freezer are too warm, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the capacitor, the evaporator fan motor, the start relay and the condenser fan motor. You will need to test the parts with a multi-meter. Here is a link to one of our videos on YouTube that you may use as a general reference on how to use one, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWC44fHn0As. If you are also find frost on the evaporator coils, this will prevent air from flowing over the coils. No air flow will cause the refrigerant in the coils to remain in a liquid state and keep it from vaporizing. The refrigerant will travel past the coils and will eventually end up in the compressor and cause damage to it. If there is frost on the evaporator coils, this may caused by the following:
1. A bad defrost heater or the other components of the defrost system.
(The defrost system consists of the defrost heater, the defrost timer and the thermostat/defrost control.)
2. High Humidity
3. An evaporator fan motor not working correctly or not at all.
4. No load on the evaporator coil.
5. Dirty evaporator coils.
6. Defrost intervals that are set too far apart.

Intermittent defrosting.
The freezer periodically ices up raising the freezer to the 20s & the fridge the 40s. It seemed to make a difference replacing the 2 plug 6 terminal "digital" timer with a cheaper more common single plug 4 terminal "mechanical" with a manual timer advance as suggested by the you tube "experts". It will run fine for days & then it starts warming. Unplugging for about 3 hours seems to reset everything including thawing the drain line. I observed the coils with the cover off & saw the heater glow. the 1st hint of a problem is the panel in front of the evaporator starts snowing up. Inserting several manual cycles seems to delay icing. I can see the timer motor moving. Defrost cycles appear to last 8-12 minutes. I hate to give upon this thing. When it's on at max settings it hits -4 on top & 31 down below. At recommended settings +5 & 38. Mechanically, it seems like it's working great until it hits its control issue.

My unit seems to defrost too long. There is frequently water in the fridge portion that is coming from the freezer. There is also a layer of water that is frequently frozen on the bottom of the freezer. What part might help this? I am assuming that the defrost system is malfunctioning. Thank you!

Recently clean debris from bottom coils. Now freezer won't defrost. Is there a way to know if it's the fan or the thermostat? Should I replace both? I Unplugged it and fully defrosted it. However it's frosting back up. Any guidance would be appreciated
