This evaporator fan motor is located in the back of the freezer, and circulates air over the refrigerator coils. These coils will convert the heat into cool air, which is then circulated.

My refridgerator is making a chirping noise, similar to the sound a fire alarm makes when the battery is running low. Could this be the evaporator fan motor?
For model number ED5FVGXWS00
Hello Phyllis, Thank you for the question. I first suggest removing the fan blades and running the appliance to see if the noise stops. If not, the motor should be replaced. Hope this helps, good luck with this repair!

Brand new refrigerator. Evaporator fan motor while running, has a noticeable low hum which is louder than the compressor. The hum stops when opening the doors, or the motor shuts off. Is it normal for this motor to hum like this? Never heard this from other refrigerators before.
For model number WRS321SDHW01
Hello Steve,
Thank you for your question. Our sources say to fix the humming sound the motor itself would need to be replaced under part PS11740362 for your model. We hope this helps!

Good morning, my refrigerator is warm, the fan motor starts working and after a couple of seconds it stops, it does not make noise does not vibrate, it only stops and therefore the coil freezes, can you help me? Thank you
For model number 10651113711
Hello Cesar, thank you for your question. A suggestion is a faulty Evaporator Fan Blade PS11738973 or the Evaporator Motor itself PS11740362. One other possibility is the Compressor Start Relay PS11750123 has stopped functioning. We also have a video for the Relay for you to view for installation information. We hope to hear from you soon.
What should the ohms be on the evaporator fan motor? My coils in the freezer are freezing up and the motor never starts. I've changed the freeze control on the fridge already. How do I test this motor to see if it is working properly?
For model number WRS571CIHZ01
Hello Robert, For testing the evaporator fan, put the multimeter on the O setting. Connect the multimeter lead to two wires of the evaporator fan. If the multimeter reads resistance in the range of 10 O to 100 O, the evaporator fan is working fine. Inspect the fan area for any obstructions hindering airflow inside the refrigerator. Test the fan motor: Utilize a multimeter to test the continuity of the fan motor. Lack of continuity indicates a faulty motor that requires replacement. We hope this helps.

Freezer side working properly. Holds at -0 refrigerator side running around 40 to 45 degrees. Removed the back panel in freezer. Coils are fine and not iced up. Question is the fan variable speed fan? I also removed the damper at top of frig that lets the air from the freezer to refrigerator. It was opened all the way. Any thoughts on this? Could not test the thermastor. Ran diagnostic on the control panel it looks ok if i read it right

My compressor is running but my evaporator and condenser fans are not running. This happened after a power fail. I am now attempting to run on generator power. I suspect that the control board is bad. Could anyone help with this problem. Or is there a way to reset this model?
