Wash Cycle Quit Working - Replaced Timer
The instructions from others on this web site helped out greatly. Changing out the timer was quite straight forward. After removing the (3) screws on the panel cover, and the (2) holding the timer in place I simply unplugged the old cords, and plugged them in to the new timer. The only tricky part was removing the button skirt but a couple of You Tube videos showed the proper technique. I used a pair of needle nose pliers to pull out the plastic piece in the back of the timer that was attached to the button skirt

Hello Isabel, thank you for your question. If the unit isn't starting at all I would recommend checking your water inlet valve, timer, Lid Switch Kit and pressure switch first. I hope this helps!

Water will not shut off, could it be the timer?
For model number MAV4757AWW
PartSelect logo
Hello Stephen, thank you for your question. The most common cause of the water not shutting off is the water valve or pressure switch. A good way to test this is to start a cycle and when the water is filling the tub pull the plug out of the wall to shut off power. If the water valve stops dispensing water the issue is probably the pressure switch PartSelect Number: PS2200077. If the water continues to come into the unit the valve is the issue and should be replaced, which is PartSelect Number: PS11738838. You can also test the valve with a multi meter to determine if it has failed. If both the valve and pressure switch are tested/replaced and the issue persists, the timer would be the next part to replace. I hope this helps.
