I have Whirlpool with a filter house that wont stay close. The housing door pops open and the filter pops out and leaks. Do i need to replace the housing?

I have a Whirlpool Model # WRS325FDAM04. The water filter housing door at the bottom grill came off and I can't get it back on. The water filter is still in place. What can I do

Hello Steve, We are glad to hear from you today. The Door may be broken or cracked. The removal and installation of the Water Filter Housing PS11738003 is quite simple, Remove two screws and two hoses. Replace housing. Put screws and hoses into new housing. We hope this helps.

Will the frig work without placing a water filter in place.

Hello Paul, Thank you for the question. If you are not going to use a Filter, you will need to install the Water Filter Bypass Plug, PartSelect Number PS12731165. We hope this helps!
