I have Whirlpool with a filter house that wont stay close. The housing door pops open and the filter pops out and leaks. Do i need to replace the housing?

I have a Whirlpool Model # WRS325FDAM04. The water filter housing door at the bottom grill came off and I can't get it back on. The water filter is still in place. What can I do

Hello Steve, We are glad to hear from you today. The Door may be broken or cracked. The removal and installation of the Water Filter Housing PS11738003 is quite simple, Remove two screws and two hoses. Replace housing. Put screws and hoses into new housing. We hope this helps.

After changing the water filter, water stopped dispensing. If I remove the filter, water comes out as before. Do I need to replace the water filter housing?

Hello Tomm, thank you for getting in touch. This issue is usually caused by an airlock, or the filter not being fully seated to depress internal water valves. Since the water flows without the filter, the problem lies within the new filter itself or the seating mechanism, not your home water supply. Remove the filter, inspect for damage, and firmly insert/turn it until it locks into place. Sometimes it feels tight before it is actually engaged. After installing, hold down the dispenser lever for 2-3 minutes straight. The system likely has an airlock, and this will force air out. Ensure the plastic shipping caps were removed from the O-rings of the new filter before installation. If you still have the old filter, try installing it. If the water works, the new filter is defective or incompatible. We hope this helps.
