In the middle of changing loads there was snapping and sound and drum stopped turning.
I was hopeful it was the belt. But, I had no idea how to get to it. I used the model no. and looked on line for pats and schematics. That gave me a sense of what to do. I started at the rear and removed the back panel. It was like peeling an onion because then, I wasn't sure what to remove next. So I just kept removing nut head screws until eventually I had loosened the sides, removed the top and discovered the front lifted up and off (no screwed attachment.) There's grounding wire that must be detached. Don't forget to re-attach. Without proper grounding you could be electocuted! I was careful to remember how it was attached. To get to the pulley, which is on the front, I had to remove the drum. I found the snapped belt. The pulley is held in place by tension from the belt so, once the belt goes the pulley detaches. I tried to find the belt locally the following week but was unsuccessful. I found the part on-line and had it in four days. It was tricky getting the belt and pulley in place. I persevered.
The parts ( I replaced the fliter that needed replacement for years too) came with installation instructions. Its possible I did not have to disassemble as much as I did. Oh well! Although I'm fairly mechanical, I'm still pretty proud to have been able to do it and save the cost of a repairman.

Belt broke & renter tried to fix without my knowledge
When the belt broke my renter tried to fix it with duct tape and in the process the idler pulley either broke or somehow got lost. When I began to fix the dryer with a new belt,I discovered the idler was gone. SO, not knowing what it looked like was a problem. Going to the PartSelect web site I was able to see the exploded views of the whole dryer and pick out the right repair items. Really worked slick. Thanks. Allan W. Rutter

Why does the lint filter cover keep falling out of the hole? I've tried bending the four clips so that it stays in the vent hole, but then the filter flops around. I also tried bending two clips to hold the filter, and two to hold the filter/cover assembly in the vent hole, but that did not work. Thanks, dan

Hello Daniel, thank you for contacting us. According to the how to video on our site, the clips should be tight and have no play at all, over time heat could of caused it to warp and you may need to replace the lint filter and cover. Hope this helps!

Hello Mayra, Thank you for your inquiry. Researching the model number that you have provided, there may be an issue with the lint seal part# PS11741506 or a clogged dryer vent. Since a clogged vent restricts airflow so that the air cannot move the lint to the outside of your home, it forces the lint into the area behind your dryer. Check the exhaust ducts for any clogs or restrictions, and make sure it can vent outside correctly. We hope this helps.

Lint escapes from this filter and builds up behind the wire screen on the back side of the dryer. Suction from a vacuum cleaner is not strong enough to remove it from this area. I do not see any way to remove the screen so that this lint can be removed. How can the lint buildup be removed??
