removed old valve after finding out it leaked really bad. Got on line ordered new valve and it arrived in one day. great service from you guys. there was a little difference in the valves, push in line fitting on the new valve, screw in fittings on the old one. took less than 20 minutes to install and works great, thanks

Ice Maker was dripping excess water and making large icicles inside the freezer.
Found several videos online showing this process. It was difficult to separate the main water line input module from the original water valve, but persistence paid off and I was able to separate them using a large flat head screwdriver by twisting in grove on the back side. Putting in the new valve system was really easy once you cut the old screw nut sections off the lines. The output lines are different sizes so you can't mess that part up. Just be careful when dealing with the 3rd line that is the same as one of the output lines in size. I just marked mine with a permanent marker so I didn't get them confused or swapped around. Another problem was the two pieces did not fit together like I expected because of design differences. I was able to mount them one above the other by using one of the screw holes for the cardboard back cover to mount the main water input module. Everything works fine now. No leaks.

water was leaking from ice maker causing a ice glazicer in the freezer
shut off water, unplug refrigerator, removed panel on back, took 2 screws that hold the valve in place, disconnected 3 hoses and 2 electrical connection reversed the procedure for the new one.

Unplugged the appliance. Removed back dust cover. Removed screws holding inlet in place. Removed water lines and plugs. Replaced inlet. Attached water lines and plugs. Attached back to appliance. Put dust cover back on. Did not solve this issue.

My ice maker stopped making ice after changing the filter. Still get water just fine at the door spout though. Any ideas where to start diagnosis?
For model number GD2NHAXMB00

Hi Wayne, Thank you for your question. If you are getting water from the dispenser, but no ice from the ice dispenser, the issue is either the ice maker, the water inlet valve of the main electronic control board. Try to do a manual cycling of the ice maker to see if it works correctly, you will need to use a multimeter to check the water inlet valve and the main electronic control board. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Does the water inlet valve supply the pressure to the fridge or does it just open and close the solenoid?
For model number 106.55202400
PartSelect logo
Hi Carolyn, thank you for your question. Your appliance does not have pressure like that really. The water inlet valve opens or closes and the influx of water goes up through the tubes and exits where it is being called to. If anything the water pressure is coming from your own home. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Ice maker will not stop making ice, you can turn it of up top, the laser beam blinks, turn off and it still makes ice.
For model number GS2SHEXNS00
PartSelect logo
Hi James, Thank you for your question. There are a couple of parts that could cause a problem like this, however it seems that it may be your emitter and receiver boards that are the issue. I would suggest testing your valve, to see if it is working correctly. Then testing your ice maker as well. If both of those parts are checking out good, then it is likely it is your boards that are the problem. Good luck with your repair.

The fridge makes ice perfectly, but vibrates & makes pulsating sounds when water is called for, which comes out in lower volume than usual (spurts in sync with the pulsating sounds)
For model number ED2KHAXVS03

Water dispenser will not stop dispensing water.
For model number 106.56824604
PartSelect logo
Hi Jennifer, Thank you for your question. If your dispenser will not stop dispensing water, you may have a stuck water dispenser button. Sometimes if you press the button too hard it will become stuck. Sometimes pressing the button again will stop it. If this does not help, turn the water off to the refrigerator and unplug it for 10 minutes. You may also need to check the dispenser arm, the dispenser control board and the water inlet valve to see if they are working correctly. If you have any questions, please let us know. We are open 7 days a week. We look forward to hearing from you!

Whirlpool part number W10822681. Our old water inlet valve was leaking out of the top of one of the solenoids. Is this a normal place for this to leak? There is a hose coming out the bottom of both solenoids and one coming in the side. No leaking around or from any of these hoses. Just leaking out the top of the solenoid itself. Please let me know if replacing the water inlet valve take care of this?
For model number 10656834604

Hello Ronald, thank you for reaching out. Based on the description that you have provided, we would recommend replacing the water inlet valve, part number PS11723179, to fix the issue. We hope this solves your problem!
