Front wheel was broken when moving refrigerator
Lifted the front up onto a scrap 2x4 to get it off the ground and it had 1 bolt that you removed to get the old item off and replace with new assymbly and 1 bolt to re attach. This sat broke for over a year becuase I thought it would be alot harder to fix, found the part on parts select ordered it recieved it in approx 2 days and had it fixed in less than 15 minutes. I would recommend parts select to anyone who told me that they had a appliance broken.
Thanks

No water flow to ice maker. Motor works perfectly.
After cutting supply line to ice maker and using syringe to back feed ice maker discharge outlet- I learned that there was no freeze blockage in supply.
Using nut driver, the valve was removed and electrical and water lines removed and reinstalled on new valve.
Reinstallation of assembly using nut driver completed the whole repair in less than 5 minutes.
The part was a perfect match.

Thanks

We noticed the Refridgerator door had dropped and found the lower cams to be broken and worn.
First I removed the bolt that holds the cover on the top hinge bracket. Then I removed all items from the shelves inside the door by lifting the shelves out and placing them on the counter. Next I removed the 3 screws holding the hinge bracket on, this disconnects the top of the door from the cabinet. Then I lifted the door off the lower cam, removed the screws that held the cam in place on the door and the lower bracket on the cabinet and replaced the cams. I smeared some Vaselene on the cams and placed the door back on the lower cam, reconnected the upper hinge and replaced the hinge cover. All done and it works great!

Replacment of Ice/Water Filter
The first step was to go to PartSelect.com to find where the filter is located because that is not revealed in Whirlpool's Guide. This refrigerator came with the home I had just puchased so Iwas unfamiliar with the filter replacement. Th filter is on the grill at the bottom of the refrigerator. I followed the instructions helpfully printed on the replacement cartridge box which arrived in less than the 3-5 days acknowledged on my order.

Turn the filter handle 1/4 turn counterclockwise. Don't be timid. It was very tight (probably had not been replaced ever). Remove the filter from the handle that protrudes through the grill at the bottom of the front of the refrigerator.

Insert the new cartridge into the filter handle insert snugly until it goes no further and turn 1/4 clockwise.

The instructions on the replacement cartridge tell you to run the water for 5 minutes to remove air and sediment from the system. DO NOT skip this step. I was. I discovered a large amount of sediment after even three minutes of flushing. A 5-gallon pale will help. And don't forget to turn off the ice maker while you are flushing. Otherwise you will end up with ice cubes everywhere as you try to position the bucket under the water dispenser.

Ice maker stopped making ice
After researching the problem on parts select I found that there were several reasons why the ice maker would stop working. The number one reason was the electronic sensors fail, these tell the ice maker when ice bucket is filled. The light on the electronic eye will blink a code to diagnose the if there is a problem with the sensor. In my case the sensor was bad(the red sensor light would not stay on). The light transmitter is on the right and the reciever is on the left. First make sure there is nothing blocking the holes by cleaning them with a "q" tip. If they still don't work and the blinking code indicates failure them they need to be replaced. The sensors are behind panels on the left and right; each panel had 3 screws that need to be removed. First shut off power to the frig. Once you remove the screws you will find a quick connect attached to a electronic board on each side. Unplug each board and replace with the new part. Replace the panels and turn on the frig to test. The instructions in the parts box will tell you the light codes that will indicate that the boards are working. One note, I did this repair , the sensors were working and I did not get ice after 30-60 minutes.I found out that the water fill tube(black tube at the top of icemaker) was clogged with frozen water thus the ice tray never filled. After clearing out the ice with a small pipe cleaner the ice maker tray fill with water and the ice maker made ice on schedule.

Hi Buck. Thank you for the question, I think we can help you out. I have cross-referenced the model number of your refrigerator with the water filter you have listed, and they are not compatible. The correct water filter for your model is part#:PS11722132. Having said that, there are other reasons your refrigerator could be leaking, so I would recommend entering your model number in our Instant Repairman feature, to determine other parts that could be causing the issue, if the correct water filter does not solve the issue. I hope this helps, and good luck with the repair.

Trying to change the water filter and i can't get the old one out. It is on the bottom right of the grill. Trying to turn 1/4 counter clockwise and it won't budge. I can also slide the outside circle down but that is not releasing it either. Thank you for your help.

Hi, i bought this refrigerator for cheap on craigslist, and it had no filter or cap installed.I have a few questions: 1. why have i been able to use the ice and water dispenser without water leaking everywhere? is there a bypass plug somewhere that i need to know about? 2. can i install this filter without the cap for the end? thanks
For model number KSBP25FKSS01
PartSelect logo
Hello Spencer, thank you for your question. If the filter is removed, the water will continue to flow to the unit but just won't be filtered. There is no bypass plug, the filter housing automatically bypasses. You will need to order the cap to install the filter. I hope this helps!

Hi, my water filter went to zero and my ice maker quit working. During the night before I put the new filter in, there was water on the floor outside the refrigerator, but not under it. It looked like it had spewed out and stopped. I changed the filter, but the ice maker is still not working. I tried the old filter but it won't work either. My manual seems to indicate that it needs a filter. The filter I used was a "comparable/compatible" filter while the former filter was a Whirlpool/KitchenAid brand. Is it possible to have bought a bad filter.
For model number KSSC48FKS01
PartSelect logo
Hello Jean , Thank you for the question. It is more then likely the off brand filter. For proper operation and use of the dispenser, we recommend using the proper Whirlpool filter. If you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!
