When you turn the burner switch to the off position the burner goes to high heat and never turns off. The only way to get the burner to turner off is kill the main power in the breaker box. Looking from the front of stove it is the back burner on the left side. Is 54a in the drawing what i need to repair this problem? Thanks

Thank you for your inquiry. To fix this issue, you will need to replace the surface burner switch. If you are replacing the switch for left rear burner, then 54A would be the correct part. The switch for the large burner was turned on without being pushed down first and then turned, so the black screw that keeps it in place broke. Do I have to replace the whole dual element control with potentiometer?

We dropped a bottle and broke the plastic switch knurl at the mounting plate.

Does this part fits my slide-in electric range model number?

Thank you for your question. The 'O' at the end of your model number seems to be incorrect. However this part does fit all of the models listed in the PLES389EC, series. If that O is actually a G or a D, then this is the right part for your appliance.

Right side front element will not turn off.

Problem started as when right rear burner was turned on right front also came on. Right front would work ok if right rear was off. Now neither right rear or right front will turn on
